For me it's the opposite.
My friends always want to dick around playing gmod or whatever, but for me video games are a solitary activity that I play quietly with my music on. I play multiplayer games but I dont talk with anyone. I'd rather see my friends and have a drink or something than play with them

I stopped years ago and started focusing on my career, but it bothers me that people can be so cold. I am a junior doctor now and family that never spoke to me invite me to things because I am "respectable" now, but I haven't changed my personality at all. The reason I used this site in the first place is because it hurts too much to connect to people in real life. I haven't spoken to friends in half a decade because expecting people to have common courtesy hurts too much when they treat you like you don't exist unless you offer something to them. It's easier for me to just not get hooked in at all and to focus on things that I can control.

Hmm, I like to play some multiplayer games occasionally, when my friends ask me to, but it's boring alone.
I mean I played like 2.5k hours in CS:GO, half of it alone, but I'm fed up with it now and now I treat such games as just the time to chill with friends, when they ask me to.
Usually I play a card game (LoR), visual novels and occasionally rhythm games (osu!)

Old ones are still alive. I play Quake and Starcraft, for example.

It's not as bad as people make out. I am really socially retarded so it gives me objectives to strive for and a "purpose" of sorts and my family finally see me as an adult and take me seriously. I also like the feeling of seeing people with problems get helped.
