Would be really efficient for travel

Russia did this with Crimea and it was successful.
>lets wate huge ressources and fuck up the environment to allow foreigners to go to our country
Euros can't build shit
They would also build a bridge to Africa anyways
There is already a tunnel between France and UK
There's already a tunnel between Calais and Folkestone, and there's also a tunnel between Denmark and Sweden
okay but a tunnel is not a bridge
You can already get to those places. The bridge you're proposing between Denmark and Norway would be almost a hundred miles long going from nowhere to nowhere. There is already a bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö
>flag
is baiting the only source of joy in your life ?
The bridge between Germany and Scania is being built a little bit further east, via Zealand.
The bridge between NI and Scotland is being considered, but sounds useless to me.
The English Channel has a tunnel.
The one between Norway and Denmark looks like an engineering nightmare.
The only things I support are a tunnel between Finland and Estonia, one between Dublin and Holyhead, and maybe one to Sicily.
Yeah, one is above the ground, the other one is underground.
Both of the situations will get you from A to B
what can a bridge do what a tunnel cannot?
There's actually talk of building a bridge between N.I and Scotland but it will take years to even get to the planning stage
It's basically the same thing
>tfw no gibraltar strait superbridge
>Bridges are just for tourists
They would also be used by high speed trains to carry billions of dollars worth of goods that economically benefit the country as a whole. Other than slow ships and plains that get grounded due to bad weather.
There is already a tunnel between France and Great Britain
Zealand is west of Scania
The English channel has a huge naval traffic so it wouldn't really work well. Plus the location you have chosen requires a bridge to be long as fuck, and there are quite intense currents there.
Also if that was ever planned, pls no Italian engineer.
you can't perform major repairs on tunnels because they're below a bunch of water
boris is considering the scotland/NI one
>muh environment
never gonna make it
Look, even Argentina knows this.
Yeah my bad
You have enough africans already, no need to boost it
It already only takes like two hours to get from Helsinki to Tallinn with a ferry, but it's cheap. A tunnel would shorten it to half an hour but be way more expensive. The train tickets would be at least 50 eurobucks whereas you can get ferry tickets for like ten bucks

*builts a tunnel under a highway in one weekend*
It's pretty famous
there's already a bridge between malmo and copenhagen what are you smoking?
when are americans finally going to be rangebanned
You can't build a bridge that large and even if you did it would probably disrupt boat traffic.
We already have a bridge to Denmark which is fully functuonal. Amerivans are stupid I guess.
Dunno, I'm no expert. I just like the idea because it make sense from a military perspective.
Behold, the longest undersea tunnel in the world. Fuck Euros and fuck mutts, only grorious nips were able to construct this great wonder.
>you can't
Why are non-superpowers allowed to post on Yas Forums?
pics of the actual bridge?
He wants bridges...
>You can't build a bridge that large
Actually, the technology is already there to build bridges no matter how deep the seabed is. There are some projects to build the first bridge of this kind in Norway.
But anyways such a long bridge would be insanely expensive and as you said it would disrupt boat traffic.
>he wants to live in a huge junkyard
your choice
thats what tunnels are for
Why do you hate the planet, Zhang?
And how long is that bridge?
why are you larping as a retard if you imply you're a superpower ?
>Let's build some useless bridges with no traffic
Why do you hate the planet, Zhang?
It's a tunnel, what do you expect to see? youtu.be
>>he wants to live in a huge junkyard
>your choice
The autistic binary Euro mindset on full display.
that bridge would shorten the journey between Ireland and Scotland by about 50 minutes so it makes no difference.
why don't americans just build these?
I mean yeah they've been throwing the idea around, but I just don't see that much utility for it
Nice vid, thanks.
We haven't had a winter in five years.
Delete this, there might be a smart terrorist-scubba diving-mechanic getting ideas from it. Just a cable away from a catastrophe.
Some of these make a lot of sense.
There's actually a bridge/tunnel over the Chesapeake Bay already. Not at that location, but pretty close to it.
en.wikipedia.org
??? its under the seaground
Any of the thousands of suspension and cable-stayed bridges built for over the last 100 years is just one cable away from catastrophe. Yet there they are.
Your specific regional experiences over 5 years =/= climate trends if that's what you're trying to imply. For a climate shill you don't understand your religion too well.
I think Northern Ireland to Scotland would unironically be worthless. What purpose would it serve that boats don't already?
faster/continuous travel 24/7
>Build a bridge across one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.
>Build a bridge at one of the longest stretches between Britain and France.
Want to know why I know you're not a civil engineer?
There is no reason to fix a correctly built tunnel. The structure of a tunnel is under constante compression only, basically no traction anywhere, it's completely inert. Due to this tunnels are basically maintenance free. If humanity were to disappear, tunnels would probably the last man-made structures standing.
>What purpose would it serve that boats don't already?
Unionists finally get to be connected with the """Mainland""".
The Ireland-Scotland bridge has been discussed a lot recently, probably to keep the DUP happy.
The issue is there's a 300m deep trench between between them.
And that trench is full of explosives
So it's not going to happen
Is it even possible to build bridges at those lengths?
>wanting to connect Great Britain to other countries
Cringe
There's a bridge in China that's 50km+ in lenght. It's perfectly possible as long as the water isn't too deep.
This
The Crown should start pumping the tunnel full of mustard gas so it starts leaking out in France and poisoning the frogs desu
It doesn't make any sense whatsoever, I bet for a cargo to go from Ireland to London it would still be faster to go through Holyhead by ferry, may as well just build a tunnel between Holyhead and Dublin.
Possible yeah. But is there a reason to do it?
For the same reason we could probably build skyscrapers kilometers tall, but there is nowhere where it makes economic sense
*This triggers the Orange Ulsterman*
True. The Scotland side of the bridge destination is in arse end of nowehere so you're right it would be faster to drive via Llanfairpwllgwyngyll
The longest bridge over a continuous body of water is 24 miles long and in the US
oh didn't know this, thanks
I support a united Ireland, yes.
Yeh just checked the China Macau bridge isn't a continious bridge, it has several points that go underwater to allow ferries to pass by
>as long as the water isn't too deep.
see
The English channel is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world so that's why they decided to build an underground tunnel instead. I read somewhere that at some point, especially crossing water, that underground tunnels make much more sense because it costs less in construction and/or in long term maintenance. Even the road connecting Denmark to Sweden goes underwater
The Chinese bridge ruined the aesthetics of Male, it was much cooler when it was just an island. Now there's a bridge to another island and it's not as special anymore
Huh well bugger me.
Bridge between Europe and America when
Why not build super bridge over the entire oceans? Atlantic first then maybe even Pacific. The worlds biggest bridge. Put a super fast train to go from San Francisco to China or whatever (a car or normal train would take maybe days and days). Airplanes are bad for the environment. Worth thinking about.
Really shady how China wants to fund all these infrastructure projects too
most boring roadtrip ever
Because the world would be better if all those places didn't exist. God placed those seas for a reason.
he's absolutely right tho
