When Italians want a cheese sandwich what do they use?
Seriously parmegganio is too strong and mozerella is too weak. Do they use French or German cheese?

It is though. I'm out of cheddar and just had to make a sandwich with it. I like to feel the cheese when I eat it so had to bulk it out with some (((Gouda))). Italians make the best sandwich meats, where is the sandwich cheese?

Usually

Really?
I wouldn't put it past you.
>Chips on pizza
>Special brew on tap everywhere
Trashy "people"

mozzarella or

Bumping for answers

this

disgusting

Asiago and caciotta for me usually. My dad is less of a pansy and goes for taleggio

>white bread with crust cut off
>mayonnaise
>american cheese

Mmmm white people food

Are you even Italian? not joking

*takes breath*
Asiago, provola, caciotta, caciocavallo, pecorino, stracchino, certosa, robiola, gorgonzola, primo sale, scamorza, fontina et ceteta

Pecorino and gorgonzola and stuff like that are not good for sandwiches surely, much too strong. We'd only commonly have blue cheeses or strong cheeses along with other stuff in there to temper it. Normally only have them by themselves with cheese platters

Hmm yes delicious pecorino sandwich...

I use asiago usually

those as well actually

Latteria too

>McKennedy brand

this is an insult to the US

>Literally has 'cheddar' written on the package

You don't know the meaning of the word 'insult'

Gorgonzola + radicchio + hamburger + walnuts
Pretty good

Why?

Pecorino or scamorza

melted pecorino and flat bread is the food of the GODS

Also why are you god damned fake guineas so fuckin snobby when it comes to American pizza. You fuckin millennial Italians don’t know what the struggle was like 80 years ago in siciliy. Most paisanos had to eat a lot of gluten because of the lack of meat so when they came to America they decided to make the most decadent meals possible to celebrate the abundance of meat in this countr, so yes, they put meat in pasta and pizza. I swear you fucking pricks are so god damn snobby.

Everyone knows the best cheese is Australian traditional bega cheese

Tasty but demonstrably not a sandwich

Sounds like a nice salad but with added burger, yum

>bega cheese

cringe

Reminder americans make mozzarella with skimmed milk, that's why it tastes like nothing

For a sandwich!

define sandwich

Very strict definition here, its 2 slices of bread with stuff in between them, even baguettes with things in ride a fine line, could be classed as a roll

Burrata with prosciutto, some tomato and a bit of olive oil

Yes

Nice

Do Italians know of "Emmentaler"? That would be my choice

mozzarella is a tastles shit and parmegganio tastes like feet

>mozzarella is a tastles
not the one made of buffalo's milk

That's not a cheese sandwich though that a cheese and ham sandwich

With just cheese then I guess some hard cheese with strong flavour, like pecorino

Though you wouldn't eat it with sandwich bread, but with a harder bread, like sourdough :)

What on earth is 'sandwich bread'? Not something we have here

Yes of course, emmentaler is good.

I would use provoletta tho.

Something like this? Soft bread, usually made with milk and butter and not just flour and water

Weird, that's just a loaf that's been made in a tin to us, although we don't make bread with milk normally that's something for kids. I do know that some continentals call that 'toast bread' as well, though, peculiar

Asiago, taleggio, provola, provoletta, stracchino, certosa, stracciatella, fontina.

Yes toast bread too. That's sandwich bread here usually, otherwise we call it panino, which is literally any bread made in two and stuffed with toppings except if it's soft bread, in which case it's called a sandwich usually

>baguettes with things in ride a fine line, could be classed as a roll
What?

Funny how things get translated isn't it. To us a 'panini' is a ciabatta or similar bread that's been filled then toasted/grilled, you'd never have a cold one

panino is just any bread except toast bread to us.

also it can be cold or grilled, doesn't matter, it's a super general term.

You mean tortillas? That's a quesadilla

>Pecorino and gorgonzola and stuff like that are not good for sandwiches surely, much too strong
i hate *nglo so much

Listen here mush, noone on earth eats a 'gorgonzola sandwich' or a 'pecorino sandwich', it wouldn't taste nice having a great slab of pecorino and nothing else

Interesting I'll bear that in mind when I go to italy, won't ask for a 'panini'

>it wouldn't taste nice having a great slab of pecorino and nothing else
wrong

*talians are unhinged

what's the point of eating a sandwich with only cheese if the cheese isn't a strong one?

Depends on the pecorino

Theres a limit, cheddar is the perfect sandwich cheese because it has a nice strong flavour but you can eat a reasonable amount of it and not feel queasy, wouldn't think that any cheese you normally use sparingly would do well alone in a sandwich for lunch

Didn't realise there were lots of types desu the one normally sold here is very hard indeed and normally eat it in very thin shavings

Pic related nice half cm wedges of this in your nice bloomer sandwich yum yum

>it wouldn't taste nice having a great slab of pecorino and nothing else
why can't anglos appreciate simplicity? pecorino, a bit of olive oil on the bread and you're good to go.
