i use linux on my laptop and windows for my gaming rig

I only use linux because android studio runs faster there

Increasingly popular according to my own experiences.

It's not common, but I have a friend who unironically uses Linux because it is gratis (not because it is free). Even though it is normal to pirate windows here.

Most p00lacks are too fucking stupid to use a computer, let alone one that doesn't use windows. And they're too poor for macOS.
Like shit at the company I work for we had new hires who finished university electrical engineering and meme computer science who have never seen a linux running. This is how shitty the educational system it is in Poland. if you know just Linux (on the level of RHCSA say) and nothing else you will get a job in IT in Poland.

I've met a guy who was using Linux and who wasn't an enthusiast. He was uber-christian fundamentalist and he was running Linux when his Windows license he got from university expired. He said "I can't afford a box license of Windows and I'm not comfortable pirating software". So he was carrying a thinkpad running ubuntu without realizing how much of a meme he is.
