I think everyone should know about politics, history and philosophy, even though it's not going to be their career. Political science on the other hand could very well be cancelled and politicians are to be the best in their respective fields.

i say that stuff as someone who's learned about history and philosophy. now i have a better understanding of world governments and their flaws, but that doesn't matter. there's nothing i can do with this "knowledge". it's completely useless.

I get that history seems useless from a practical standpoint, but just the fact that fact that many people think it's significant actually makes it significant.
You can't understand a lot of political propaganda or geopolitical actions without knowing some history. You can say "lol who cares" but other people do care or they manipulate other people who care about history do to their bidding.

Not entirely true. History is the context of the world we live in. Many useful lessons can be learned from it. If I hadn't been interested in history since very young (and thus didn't develop many of my racist beliefs) I would have fallen for lots of chink scams in crypto instead of being >+1000% on my initial investment.

And that's just one example. Through history you can learn how retarded, stupid and backwards most non-western cultures are and avoid visiting their shithole countries except for the nice parts, and thus avoid getting raped, mugged or murdered for no reason.
