Why are Latino commieblocks comfier than Eastern Euro commieblocks ? idk if this pic is Brazil or Colombia but damn it just looks so nicer than whatever commieblock from Russia, Ukraine, etc.

Pro tip, they are not. They dont have ac and sometimes they dont have elevators.
Eastern commieblocks have heating.

they look worse to me

Those are normal apartments, not commieblocks

you do not know anything

That looks nothing like here and I doubt it's anywhere close here, looks like hong kong.

Yep.. my first thought from the thumbnail was Korea

Latam? Idk man, this looks like Hong Kong to me.

>normal apartments
xDDD

It looks worse. They've shat all over the landscape. At least in Eastern Europe they don't build them in areas of natural beauty.

Here's what the densest city in Brazil looks like, note the tacky yellowish high-rises with colored details, the typical sea of grimy off-colored orange and gray roofs and overall lack of consistency and urban planning.

Except they aren't

>normal apartments
Oh you poor, poor and miserable soul.

looks better than my house

>giant ant colonies full of brown ppl
yes, very comfy lol

New Russian commieblocks look nice and clean. I would live there

They're not cuboids

Eastern commieblocs are propably 2-3 decades older than these.

The mountain does look like the ones in Hong Kong.

This is what Bundang, a planned city full of gommieblocks built in the early 90s near Seoul, looks like. The average price for a 1,250 sq ft flat there is like USD 800,000.

Because that is Hong Kong

all those look like shit
only east asia has good looking commie blocks

where is that? looks a bit like late soviet union gommie blocks but im not sure.

I think that's Moscow

>Why are Latino commieblocks comfier than Eastern Euro commieblocks ?
What are you talking about? There was a science behind soviet blocks. There always had to be a certain amount of open space, sport facilities, a theater every district, a school and grocery shop within a few minute walk of each neighborhood. The gold standard for soviet development was that you'd never really have to leave your neighborhood for the necessities of life when you're young and old. They came with ample greenery and transit connections nearby. Gotta remember, this way during the height of the modernist push and in the USSR eyes, modern architecture. There is very little shared in concept with latino concrete jungles

They were shit.
Off yourself commie shill.

1. they're just capitalist apartment complexes, so they're maintained well because the real estate developer wants to sell them or rent them out, it's not like in communist countries where apartments were given for free but since there was no choice, their quality was extremely poor and they looked so ugly

2. everything looks better with tropical sun

Spain is the housing block capital of the western world. Don't pretend like your housing is any better, jose

I'm 100% sure this is Hong Kong

imagine a forest fire there lol

>There was a science behind soviet blocks. There always had to be a certain amount of open space, sport facilities, a theater every district, a school and grocery shop within a few minute walk of each neighborhood

it can be true but doesn't change the fact that these commieblocks are just ugly and depressing

in Finland they also built blocks but they don't look as bad as the Soviet ones, they have better architecture (bigger windows for example), maintenance etc.

That looks Asian.

This is Brazil's commieblock doom AKA São Paulo.

This is the Bijlmer in Amsterdam
I can tell because my wife's bf lives there

looks like a page from Akira if you imagine it in black an white

Could you do a commie block inspired in mesoamerican pyramids or general arquitecture?
How would it look like?
How could I get someone to do some concept art?

Attached: 1583286685207.jpg (1280x854, 368.07K)

Well, yeah. Nobody denies it was ugly. Even khurschev said so and he was the guy behind it. Pre WW2 forced industrialization, WW2 razing all your cities and a post WW2 boom are a problem for housing. It's not like the USSR didn't build more traditional housing under stalin. It just wasn't feasible on the scale they needed it to be

Pyramids are pretty bad for housing. The whole point of commieblocks is to give every apartment natural light and ventilation, and for that you need to maximize the façade per square meter of usable floor, that's why commieblocks are always shaped like X, L, T I, S, etc. If you build a pyramid for housing the people (or whatever you put) in the middle won't get any natural light and ventilation becomes a problem, as well as evacuation, etc. Another solution would be to make just a big hall in the middle (pic related), but if you are going to spend so much money building something like this, you might as well just build normal commieblocks.

Attached: Pyramid.jpg (400x255, 18.65K)

Again, the example of Finland proves that you can build commieblocks that have all the 'ideological' features yet don't scare people off with their ugliness and horrible maintenance level.

Tiered buildings are easy to do, it doesnt make economic sense

>ugliness and horrible maintenance level
That's mostly just down to the exterior cladding

Attached: THUMBNAIL.jpg (800x560, 82.3K)

a house in the suburbs with a backyard should be a human right, especially in the pandemic era where people stuck in commieblocks can't even go out

Is that the city where everyone dies before age 55 because of the heavy air pollution?

>That's mostly just down to the exterior cladding

we know the reason but for some reason the solution is not applied too often

the fact is that Soviet commieblocks don't have to be that ugly, but THEY ARE

I love Finland, but their architecture seems bland to me (although well maintained).
Honestly I don't understand why Alvar Aalto was a "genuis".

Coldest city on earth(100k minimum population). It's based around some the largest nickel-copper deposits in the world, so the entire place is just a huge smelting city

The trees. Nature makes it look more inviting. It's probably still hell to live in.

>the fact is that Soviet commieblocks don't have to be that ugly, but THEY ARE
I literally agreed with you right here

I'd rather have bland but well maintained buildings than ornate and flamboyant houses that are literally falling apart.

but it's a poor excuse, as I said Finland also was in need of cheap housing during the post-war boom yet they could make their houses look not repulsive at least

well, there's even a difference between commieblocks in small Tallinn and powerful and rich Moscow, still in the former one they look much better.

Architecture is the only industry that revolves around impressing other architects but applies to the lives of everyone. So despite people saying shit is ugly, their circlejerk doesnt allow them to think past vague descriptions of their work like "avante garde"

>implying it's forest
There are asphalt streets and parks under those trees, full of people.
Wildfire impossible there

a lot of finnish commieblocks (and nordic in general) are just as ugly as russian. biggest difference is that they are maintained better.

It's such a shitty place, but the beache around it (4 ilhas, bombinhas) are top tier.

they have comfier climate than eastern europe

They are not.

t. expert

It's literally just complaining about level of maintenance. Finns compare their cities to Chernobyl for jokes

Attached: 1454071651.jpg (949x983, 532.35K)

That covered highway is really nice

Korean developments are the god tier of soulless architecture and ant like living. Buildings even have ads for the companies that built them

Attached: blocks-of-flats-and-housing-aerial-view-of-the-city-of-seoul-south-CEYB87.jpg (1300x956, 303.77K)

The names are reversed, which is the joke

one particularly ugly thing about the eastern european commie blocks though is that you can see how they are made of prefabricated parts. it's very noticeable in the lower picture you posted.

>comfier

What's wrong with the area?
