To this day, I don't know for sure. I visited the emergency room just once and that may be written on the paperwork but I'm not sure.
I remember a time in middle school when nurses visited the class and offered to take blood so that children could learn their blood type. My parents very sensibly and correctly declined permission for me.
It would seem that AB negative is ideal for universal receivership, but current events have suggested rumors (possibly debunked or confirmed) that having O blood is much better for weathering coronavirus. Also I guess it's better to have your exact same blood type if possible but I don't know the details.

Is that why "AB negative" blood is so precious? I should look up the donor/recepient matrix again, it should have interesting (anti)symmetric mathematical properties.
Also with all the stuff going on lately I recently saw a map which indicated that O (+/-) is overwhelmingly prevalent in the Americas esp North America, I should look that up again.

I don't know anything about any of this, which is why I was thinking out loud, to gather my thoughtt and get some polite replies.
In Japanese culture (which trickles down to anime/weeaboo culture), the notion of blood type is a rough analogue of horoscope/personality type/MBTI. So IIRC in Fooly Cooly the crazy chick has type AB negative, since that type is very rare and associated with standouts, eccentrics, individualists (as are not commonly seen in Japanese culture itself). IIRC Final Fantasy VII official documents also list the characters' blood types.

There’s another blood that’s considered the golden blood but only a few people have it and they aren’t willing to donate seeing as if they get hurt they’re pretty much goners.
