and you?
What has corona exposed in your country?

i have no idea since im not a big stinky nerd
That citizens are retards even if the authorities know what they are doing.
That our politicians want to become dictators
Shows how incompetent all of our government are
Shows some people are unironiclay sick in the head and tried to make the virus a sectarian game
Thankfully they stopped now after they got btfo
>Best Korea: Living up to the name
The mediocrity of the people who run this circus and the hypocrisy and ill nature of society (now that they started harassing physicians and nurses even if they are the ones saving their asses)
That the local government is more competent than the central government.
"Some" of the local government
The so called humanitarian super power isn't actually very humanitarian.
that our government has no fucking idea what they're doing and keep changing opinions
also macron wants to look like a warlord
and also how absurdly lucky we are despite this
abc.net.au
>have a shit confused government
>daily cases still going down
I think we're just far too based for this virus
its like any other disasters, typhoon or earthquake
but theres still electricity and internet. so its the best kind of disaster
since when Guam is a EU country?
Germany has a decent healthcare system and our EU neighbors are ungrateful subhumans
it isn't, its an american military base
literally nothing, everything has been just as expected honestly
Bin ils se demmerdent y a plus de gillets jaunes.
i know, dumbass
what i'm implying is it's another thread were a fat amerilard is telling me shit about my turf
NPCs literally go insane if they have to stay closed in their houses.
And that's a good thing. Sweden seems to be the only sane country.
Every single one of our institutions have failed us. Google Scholar has hundred of papers advising preparation and contingency plans for "surge" critical care and pandemics. All of this expert advice went unheeded for decades. A lot of people here are up to their elbows in blood.
>UK: government thinks a deadly disease is like chickenpox
mutations aside it is, probably, herd immunity was shelved because even in the best case scenario the health services would have been overloaded causing god knows what other problems, the tories would never have heard the end of how they underfunded the nhs for a decade and thousands died because of it
I am enjoying watching my yank friends show their true colours over this, 'america #1 we shouldn't be helping the rest of the free world we're self sufficient' becomes 'b-but we need to steal those masks to save american lives!'
That was the real insanity of that plan, no one taking into account the massive demand for critical care that it would create.
>Jean Rottner, a doctor and president of the GrandEst regional council, said part of the order of several million masks heading for the region, where intensive care units are inundated with Covid-19 patients, had been lost to the buyers.
>“On the tarmac, they arrive, get the cash out … so we really have to fight,” he told RTL radio.
>Rottner would not identify the buyers, who they were working for or which US state the cargo was flown to, but another French official also involved in procuring masks from China said the group were acting for the US government.
I wonder who it is, security agencies?
it's insane sure but I'm still wondering whether it could have been the better plan, if it comes back next winter this will probably be a yearly event
that some people can be even more ignorant and egocentric than i thought
At least that would give you time to prepare NHS for it, we all need time now more than anything. Critical care is paramount
No matter how long we try to flatten the curve that won't be enough. Or are you implying we do this until we find a vaccine? Niggas haven't though of any long term strategy for this. Getting a viable vaccine could take 2 years
And people will start demanding to take lockdown off when we start to see enough people getting laid off and we can't support everyone with neetbux in the long run
same
We’re actually probably one of the countries best handling the crisis. We’ve been in lockdown for over a week now, and have only recorded one fatality. We’re doing a proper lockdown too, no moving to your summer houses while in lockdown like in France and the US.
An article today says there is data indicating the virus is currently peaking in New Zealand and cases should be declining shortly. I’m glad I’m here desu.
*We’re probably
Sorry, but actually probably not sorry
That our government is incredibly bureaucratic they haven't even managed to shut down restaurants and bars since the current legislate doesn't allow that. We need to make a new law for that
But they sure do love to make more commissions to wonder what can we do
Same
>summer house
wow kiwis live a great life
>are you implying we do this until we find a vaccine?
Supplying proper treatment is the top priority, massive efforts by all should be well underway to provide this. People dying in triage because we lack equipment is an unacceptable outcome
This is obviously a very challenging dilemma, do we let the economics determine our ethics? Can we sustain our populations well being during a massive economic collapse?
And what if we are facing the next great depression which takes decades to get out from? Social problems will cause a lot more deaths in the long run
It might sound heartless but is it really worth to save some boomers which might die in few years anyway?
I found out we are actually quite good people who care for each other.
More like
>so terrified of becoming dictators that they won't do anything
you want dictators? look at hungary
Some challenging and uncertain times ahead for sure, so far I am extraordinarily disappointed in not only the institutions here but also the people. I naively thought people would be more civic minded
It has affirmed that despite political divisions, federal and provincial governments can get their shit together in a crisis, or at least that they can do it better than the US, which is an admittedly a low bar.
Other than that, I'm not sure if it has revealed anything new. Public health has long been regarded as being underfunded. Everyone, including Chinese-Canadians, has some level of low-key dislike for Chinese. Getting caught between China and the US has always been a risk.
>but also the people. I naively thought people would be more civic minded
Oh I have seen difference. This has made people closer together, but for how long this will last?
Most of us are a paycheck away from getting kicked out. I had some richfag say to me in my face
>"Well who really NEEDS that $1200?!"
>"Not anyone I know!"
Northern governors arent actually better than the rest.
Watch polentonis REEEEEE at this
It's not their fault, they factually live in a totally different world
I earn just 2200€ per month and always have a buffer of 6-10 month worth of expenses. Maybe this will teach americans not to buy useless shit every month
>This has made people closer together
This is good to hear, my state went "essential" only 15 days ago and has been wildly ignored. Yesterday I saw two gardeners with giant walk behind leaf blowers blasting shit all over the place at a large store/pharmacy parking lot/entrance
You would think that amount of money would allow a person to be more exposed to different environments and explore but I suppose some people only stick with what's familiar.
I despise the materialistic behavior of Americans, the most I splurge on is fancier ingredients to cook with.
People in my country love to go on cruises and vacations all over the world. Old people and people with health conditions especially.
Not to make excuses, but younger people here have been largely omitted from economic gain. I say this as a boomer
Our biggest newspaper just did a 2 page article about how difficult it is for adulterers to not see their lovers because of the lockdown.
That says enough I think.
Muslims believe they're above the plague
>France
>Health minister resigned during the outbreak to try to be elected mayor of Paris (and failed btw)
>First round of the elections were maintained, even though every single scientist and doctor in this country advocated against it
>2nd round wasn't, though
>We have hardly any mask in stock
>Gov representant said masks were useless
>Soon later Macron appeared with a mask
>She also said schools wouldn't be closed
>A few hours later they were closed
>People in the suburbs didn't respect the lockdown at all
>Cried when the cops btfo'd them
>Our governement advocated against the lockdown in the suburbs because since they don't respect it it would send a bad image of them to the rest of France
>Health workers lack protective gear so they used handmade stuff, the governement doesn't provide any
>At the beggining of the outbreak the governement pretended to have a meeting to discuss how to handle the outbreak
>They ended up enforcing the retirement law we've been protesting against for months
>Professor Didier Raoult finds an effective medecine (chloroquine)
>Chloroquine is forbidden by the gov soon after
>Turns out Prof Raoult was in very bad terms with the minister of health's husband
>Based Raoult decides to use chloroquine anyway and saves hundreds of lives in Marseille despite the parisian elite seething hard (another proof that countryside France is far better than Paris)
>Masks are stolen everyday to nurses, ambulances, or SAMU
>People in the suburbs most likely stole masks and send them in the streets
I could go on, but that's enough for today. Sorry for bad english I'm tired and can't do better.
How is this possible, how is it that so much of our leadership so pitifully incompetent? Cronyism?
>Government assures the public that people won't lose their jobs because of the lock-down
>People lose their jobs because of the lock-down
We have a 1920s tier recession. Will we see the rise of Germany again?
Chinks naturally fear the Aussie. A chink virus is no exception.
>Gov representant said masks were useless
>Soon later Macron appeared with a mask
>She also said schools wouldn't be closed
>A few hours later they were closed
Same here, no0 wonder why the world is getting so fucked by the virus. No one was willing to learn from what happened here and they just tried to make up other reasons for why it spread so widely in Italy.
Our government is exactly what it looked like it was.
