Never got shot at. We did nearly hit an anti tank mine once. We were in a truck so it would've obliterated us.

Ehh its okay for people like me. I was living at home and I have no kids or mortgage so I was making decent money. Having a mortgage/rent and kids to pay for would definitely be tough.

Depends on what it is desu. Our Steyr rifles were recently updated with rail systems and new optics. The Air Corps is fucking desperate.

Did you get trained on how artillery coordinates with infantry? Or a sense of how well the artillery arm is able to coordinate with infantry? Because that's essential to artillery working well at all.
There's no 155mm howitzers at all. They apparently do have 120mm mortars which I read proved more useful than expected for counterinsurgency in Afghanistan and Iraq. But I thought mortars were required to work even more closely with infantry than normal artillery? And as an army which seems to rely almost entirely on the theoretical ability of its infantry, one would think the Irish army would have good infantry-level artillery?
I had read the Scorpions were gone, but it seemed unbelievable to leave the army entirely without a direct fire vehicle. Maybe some of these new mowags will have 90mm+ cannons? If it's just more troop transports, what are they doing not getting some MRAPs instead?
