are you having a stroke ?
No, I'm having a Slovenščina thread!
I always confuse Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia :(
Sorry.
I wish I were born in Slovenia. I'd have slovenian mother and father, grandmother and grandfather. I would speak slovenian. My president would be slovenian. I'd tell my slovenian friends slovenian jokes. I'd eat slovenian cuisine all the day and I would visit slovenian toilets after that. I would have slovenian education and later I'd get slovenian job with slovenian wages. I would like to spend some time with my slovenian gf in slovenian parks.
But as a slovenian, i'd post some shit on Yas Forums.
Slovene*
If I could, I'd go back in time and make the standard language closer to Upper Carniolan so it wouldn't sound so gay
Yes, I know that Slovenian is a pretty archaic language (just as Lithuanian) and they still have the dual grammatical number.
Slovenian is like those two languages, only less corrupted and more conservative!
there's no way you'd be surrounded purely by Slovenes if you were to live here, and even pure Slovenian descent is rare these days. In every single tiniest Slovenian village and in every line of work you'd encounter a considerable amount of Serbs, Bosnians and Croats that moved here in the last 50 years.
Slab trol
Nice try with the tricky map Slavroach, you're never getting Carinthia back
I went to Slovenia last year. I live like 2 minutes away from Slovenia
Slovenia is the Wales of Yugoslavia so yes
Slovenia seems nice but even if I was into learning languages, Slovenian seems useless, no offense
if I ever do learn other languages again I'll start with refreshing my basic French skills and then Spanish
I like Slovenia
You always nice to me even tho I don't deserve :)
those were all Slovenian majority areas in 1920 but many voted against Yugoslavia due to economic coercion by German employers and allegedly marauding Serbian troops.
The Germans also literally had people brought in from elsewhere to vote
Either Slovenia or Croatia are the most based South Slavs, still undecided.
Never realized how close Zagreb was to the border.
Germans did this too in referendums in Silesia and Mazury
and that's a good thing
it's funny seeing germs seething how after WWII Poland took muh ethnic German land though
nothing funny about ethnic cleansing desu
ethnic cleansing may not be funny but seething germs and germanboos are
nobody but Yas Forums posters and nationalists cares about the lost territories
meanwhile it's mainstream opinion in Poland to demand reparations from Germany still
so not sure who's the one seething
both sides did my man
1.Yes
2.Yes
3.No, sorry
But Slovenia is CUTE
Why is the Slovene economy so good? Stronk export sector and heavy industry?

btw do you know croatian? I turned on slovenian radio station i was surprised to hear so many croatian songs playing.
can you show a video of this dialect?
oh, it can be very funny. clearly you don't understand balkan humor
just wait
1. Yes, i've been there once and planned to go again in summer (which i propably will not).
2. I do. Slovenia and Czechia are my favourite Slavic countries.
3. No. I'm learning Dutch, which is already not much of use, but i could imagine working in the Netherlands or Flanders. Moving to Slovenia on the other hand, is not an option for me.
>Literally 1000 years under germans
>Less corrupted
yes, I understand Croatian but this was not always the case
Gorenjščina:
all those other languages were under the enduring influence of non-Indo-European languages.
Imagine voting yourself out of existence! Slovenes are literally Simp Cucks!
>vote for a country and ethnicity under whose rule you have been for literally as long as you have existed and is now a modern republic
or
>vote for an Orthodox autocrat whose every other utterance is borrowed from a Muslim language
>tfw no diacritics on official writting to distiguinsh different phonemes in letters A, E and O
there's only one A sound but there are three E and two O sounds which do not appear in other Slavic languages for the most part, so this is an area where slovenists should drop the slavish adherence to Serbocroatian, which doesn't have the same problem. Also, the stress in Slovenian words is quite irregular so we'd need diacritics just to teach our kids to pronounce shit properly.
yes
yes
I did for a few weeks
There aren't any good videos for it online, truth be told
>Also, the stress in Slovenian words is quite irregular so we'd need diacritics just to teach our kids to pronounce shit properly.
Saj imamo slovenščino v šoli.
1. yes
2. yes
3. yes
I am aware of its existence
It sounds very funny
yes
it's ok
I'll probably first learn my dad's kajkavian dialect, don't want it going extinct, plus he says you can get around pretty well in Slovenia with it (doubt) but it can be a basis for learning Slovene
Koroška, Maribor, Ljutomer, Prekmurje - it might as well be Croatia for how they talk
How Italian is SLAVenia?
>Join the thread to see what my favourite neighbours are doing
>Get insulted as german by everyone in here
Guess i'm leaving

see the blue part? that's where there's a strong Italian influence, though not so much even in the northern part. You do have Italian surnames (and people with black hair to match) in Ljubljana who are descended from early modern merchants and craftsmen from Italy, but these people's ancestors adopted German or Slovene culture soon after moving to Carniola. One Italian influence even on central Slovenes is that more or less all Carniolans consume polenta.
Don't leave, plz annex us before the serbs do it again!
Would rather not if you think we're germans
You are just slavs in denial. See: Carantania

Strong export oriented and heavily diversified economy based on small and medium sized companies. Also we have very educated workforce. Our cons include low wages compared to Austria, Germany, Northwestern Europe and even Northern Italy and somewhat outated infrastructure (mainly railway infrastrucutre).
I mean, no, we're still Austrians. Tradition wise, mentality wise and things like that we are very similar. Especially in behaviour, but we're still Austrians. Slavs are pretty much only a linguistic group anyways.
No offence, but for the average Slovene you are all the same, just as we are all Jugoschweine for you.
>no
am I entitled to call you Wolfgang Pogatchnigg of Voelkemarkt now?
yes
I don't know
no
If I had to learn a west slav language I'd learn Czech.
>all Carniolans consume polenta.
Do they really?
I thought you wiped out all of us in '45
You're usually never meant in what we call "Yugo". By yugos we mean Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.
based
Call me whatever you want. Slovenia and Austria have nothing to do with each other. We don't hear anything about you. The only country we are obsessed with is ourselves and maybe Switzerland and germany. You are closer to Yugoslavia than to us
Polenta, risotto, pasta, tuna etc all kind of Italian food is heavily consumed here. Not only in the restaurants, many people cook your food at home. I eat pasta at least once a week, same goes with risotto.
>I thought you wiped out all of us in '45
and here come more epic meems
What now? I'm confused
How are spreaded friulian and triestin surnames ?
you can see them here passing mouse on the provinces
>Call me whatever you want. Slovenia and Austria have nothing to do with each other. We don't hear anything about you. The only country we are obsessed with is ourselves and maybe Switzerland and germany. You are closer to Yugoslavia than to us
You're on Yas Forums. The average Austrian on here is likely to be of some very questionable ethics. There's a reason why most of them are in /deutsch/
>You're usually never meant in what we call "Yugo". By yugos we mean Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.
R-r-really s-senpai?
last time I was in Graz I spoke Slovene aloud in front of the provincial palace and suddenly there was an old man with long waxed whiskers and wearing a green jacket and lederhosen staring at me intently until I left.
I'm . I don't consider Slovenes Yugos. I just think Slovenes and their distaste against Yugoslavia is pretty artificial and think they have in common with them than with us. I mean there is a reason why you voted for Yugoslavia.
