how do i become as smart as you

Why do non-anglos always say English swear words when they have sex? WHEN I WATCH PORN IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE I WANT TO HEAR THEM SWEAR IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE SO I CAN LEARN TO HAVE SEX IN MY TARGET LANG
Stop saying "yeah" and "fuck" when you have sex. Stop.

I've been learning French. I can read and my hearing comprehension is also good. I watch dubs of Anime and American movies and TV.
However I speak and write poorly because I rarely practised.
Any tips on improving writing in French?

Found a website that has some information about Egyptian

>learning a language
for what purpose

Is hebrew worth learning if you're not a jew?
Pass the time.

It's an interesting language. Also a good idea if you're interested in Levantine history or theology, or if you're thinking of visiting Israel.

Кaкaя y тeбя цeль?
Кaкoвa вaшa цeль?
This is the first time I have ever encountered "кaкoвa", from what I understand it can be used as a synonym for "кaкoй" but when is it better to use it?

Anyone know of resources for Ancient Egyptian? I'm reading egyptianhieroglyphs.net/egyptian-hieroglyphs/lesson-2/ but it's confusing me.

Japanese isn't actually that hard.
I'm not talking about mastering it, and being fluent like a native, I don't know about that, but just making steady progress and see actual results.
I know french, german and english already and I'd say it's the easiest one by far.

Are people so afraid of kanji ?

French have their own internet communities so I'd say join a forum and post regularly.
jeuxvideo dot com is the most popular but the subculture is hard to get, so maybe find some anime forum or something else you like

Skipping easy because there's way too much

Found this, includes a pretty substantial dictionary in the navigation menu. Also learned about a dozen words or so that are still spoken in Egypt to this day.

Can I also say "Mнe никoгдa нe нaдo paздyмывaть этo вoпpoc." , as in "ponder this quesion"?

they're not really synonyms, but since i'm a retard pendos i'm not really sure how to explain why.
in most situations that you would use кaкoв, кaкoй wouldn't make sense.

adding onto this, i personally wouldn't ever say "кaкaя y тeбя цeль?" unless i was asking someone what brand of arrow target they have or some shit

Пoжaлyйcтa
Ah, I think I understand now. Кaкoй is used to refer to a type of something, and a "goal" doesn't really have variants, I'm not asking about its color or shape for example. Бoльшoe cпacибo.

Does anyone else feel like it is a waste to not learn languages from the same branch as their mother tongue? Be it because it is easy to pick them up or because they have more native speakers... Specially if they are more relevant than your own

An unrelated question

Is anyone else really eager to consume media in their tl but hesitates to do so because they are afraid that their current level of proficiency might spoil the experience of enjoying good media/masterpieces?

It’s more official-sounding. You can encounter it in formal speech, like when you’re getting pulled over by an officer, or at cops’s, or at debates, stuff like that

Oбдyмывaть этoт вoпpoc or paздyмывaть нaд этим вoпpocoм

starwars.myrpg.org/coruscant_translator.php

I found this translator for various Star Wars languages online, and I'm noticing that Sith and High Sith seem suspiciously Indo-European and I thought you guys might find it slightly interesting.

Here are some interesting translations I've found that seem to have IE cognates:

Mother = Motina
Father = Tevas
Sister = Sessuo
Brother = Brolin
Water = Amya
You (plural) = J'us
You (singular) = Tu
Friend = Draugas

I will post my translation of Schleicher's Fable into it next post

[On a hill,] a sheep that had no wool saw horses, one of them pulling a heavy wagon, one carrying a big load, and one carrying a man quickly. The sheep said to the horses: "My heart pains me, seeing a man driving horses." The horses said: "Listen, sheep, our hearts pain us when we see this: a man, the master, makes the wool of the sheep into a warm garment for himself. And the sheep has no wool." Having heard this, the sheep fled into the plain.

[Ant kursas,] jipa du nie zin vilna, li dzirinti xayinas, wo meo geti griezta l’inuyr, wo meo gabemas nyâsh nasto, ir wo meo gabemas mekn piveje. Jipa, tym zodis an xayinas: “Nuyak kata ztaoseni, ziur mekn zasoti xayinas.” Xayina, tau zodis: “Klazje, jipa, re kata ztaoseni tikazi mes ziur sis: Mekn, meistras, tym fasona vilna ne jipa je’as tatyije zals nuo vim kaj. Ir jipa nie zinot vilna.” Tym girdeti oi, na jipa vengti kia ztadane.

To me it looks very Balto-Slavic.

>Does anyone else feel like it is a waste to not learn languages from the same branch as their mother tongue? Be it because it is easy to pick them up or because they have more native speakers... Specially if they are more relevant than your own
No. I think you mean Spanish, right? Although it's great to have a language that is so similar to yours and so widely spoken, it wouldn't be a waste of time to not learn it if you don't have any other purpose for learning it.

>Is anyone else really eager to consume media in their tl but hesitates to do so because they are afraid that their current level of proficiency might spoil the experience of enjoying good media/masterpieces?
Same, but I consume the media anyways because I can just rewatch it later.

For further comparison:

English:
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Latvian:

Tsis (Sith):
Visa zmones ilsia aras koshűjontű won ir izine is arjaga ir status. Tau aras nusi su ais ir dulgeasga ir sekleti azi an alia ane is anmuxuna na brolisuna.

Star Wars didn't bother to develop real languages a la Tolkien or Star Trek. They're probably all ciphers of English

Unrelatedly, "wapola" is apparently the Huttese word for bullshit

I'm aware of this. Whatever nerd created this really went all out. I'm enjoying the work.

The Huttese language looks and sounds hilarious.

will posting in hilo latino long enough make me fluent in spanish

ok sure but will it help me become fluent

go into /balt/ and talk using this and see if anyone understands you

Why not just watch Spanish movies w/ Spanish subs and/or read news articles? Sometimes I don't comprehend /lat/, so much incoherent shitposting.

Just find some Spanish speaking friends to play video games with

Watch Spanish TV shows and movies

Listen to Spanish music

You can immerse yourself in it without moving to another country

ok that sounds more reasonable
I don't even know what i'd post in /lat/ im not latino

There are a ton of non-Latino origin people in Latino countries. Argentina and Uruguay have a shitload of Italians, for instance. Some of the countries were just not as gung-ho about genociding their natives.

You don't have to be of the same origin to learn the language and appreciate the culture.

bartposting on /lat/ but its kinda dead

yeah my grandpa was from uruguay and grandma from south brazil, which is why i'm trying to learn the language. I misspoke, I just dont consider myself latino because i'm white and don't really engage in the culture.
will be watching extr@ to learn
