I think it can truly be have a positive effect on morale, and team cohesion. That is, if it's done voluntarily, and it's not recorded, or pushed by management. Just people having fun during after hours or during team building moments.

it isn't to build morale, its done because those who actually are happy to dance are the most likely to stick around and work there for a long time. it let's the managers know who is willing to be there for the long haul

Some are just retired folks on social security trying to make some extra cash. Some are nurses, and teachers that were pushed out of the profession to make space for younger folks. The same thing happened to one of my teachers. Some are people with disabilities, and some are just people that have can't work full time for fear of having their SS reduced, so they do part time.
