Im pretty sure there is some small lith community in brazil
they did
Which african country?
france
They did but then my parents immigrated here
Disgusting
this board has to stop the threads about this shithole
they did come from Portugal, so I'm proud to be a black brazilian
My ancestors weren't Latin nor were they German war criminals. They immigrated to North America like good Anglos.
I would spit on their graves if they migrated to Brazil instead of America
it's not like there's millions of germans descendents in brazil
none of my immediate ancestors were the emigrating type.
can't blame a Hans for wanting warm weather and a beach you can swim at for a change
they did and ruined south america forever
I'd spit on their grave if they migrated to the US.
Yes, but most are actualy jews
why you hate us and argies so much
Rude. They gained free land and became the new regional elites.
Why wouldn't you immigrate?
not really, the poles were the jews
Weren't poor enough. I'm glad I dodged that bullet.
The founders of Klabin were lithuanian jews
the few people of lithuanian heritage i know here are common lithuanians with -skas surnames
Are they black?
Dunno but I'm glad they didn't
no, but they are usually just half lithuanian and half another kind of european like italian or portuguese
Thankfully they knew better.
Spaniards have the other half of South America
wish they did
I wish they did
They left the malaria-infested swamps of east England for the malaria-infested swamps of North Carolina instead
Who dis?
>England
>malaria
you wot
sayuri mattar
Thanks user
>He doesn't know the horrific malarial infestations of the sunderland swamps
There's a big chance you'd live better as an upper class Brazilian German than a lower/middle class German in Germany.
Sunderland? The place where they used to build the boats?
malaria was noticed but not understood until the 1880s, it used to be common in europe but by the time of industrialization most of the swamps the mosquitos lived in were drained and it wasn't as common then
Why would my ancestors emigrate to a less successful attempt at USA?
In the 1500s/1600s malaria was a thing in the area I marked on the map here, at least according to a book I read called 1493.
I don't know how or when they got it under control.
Brazil had great potential back in the day. Kind of like Detroit and Baltimore, they squandered what they had.
Makes sense
>Brazil had great potential back in the day.
Actually what a common man thinks potential is is rarely a decisive factor whether the country will or won't become rich.
It's the social, economic and political institutions that matter.
how we became the second biggest economy in the americas even though it's a frozen hellhole six months a year
They preferred a mountainous highland landscape and climate more akin to the their homeland instead of a tropical bunda paradise
because you're anglos
all anglo-saxon countries are rich and developed because you have those funny white-wigged judges
>The first Lithuanian to set foot on Brazilian soil, according to a record dated in 1866, was a certain colonel Andrius Višteliauskas. His mission was to aid the Brazilian armed forces in the Paraguayan War that was going on at that time.
Northern countries and countries that see snow are just better organized and motivated (Nords/UK/Poland/Northern Italy)
we all made it, except south africa
They did some 400 years ago.
South Africa wasn't enough of a settler colony to make it.
the second biggest economy in the Americas is Brazil though
>except south africa
it's still the richest country in Africa and pretty well developed by world standards given how small their anglo-saxon element is
>Northern countries and countries that see snow are just better organized and motivated (Nords/UK/Poland/Northern Italy)
but it also works in hot countries
I mean, no matter where an Englishman puts his foot on - be it hot or cold climate, desert or swamp, the land will always thrive
Same can be said about any human population.
That's because the people are from cold countries.
