It's based on Rehepapp ehk november by Andrus kivirärhk, an insanely good estonian book. The book is like a dark comedy about ancient traditions and folklore. The film is more of a noire drama than comedy but its pretty good. The scene about the human height chickens from that movie and the beginning scene of the trailer is about the old tradition of hingedepäev aka souls day where people set tables and saunas for the people who are dead to come back and do some weird shit. The naked girl is in love with the guy in the thumbnail but the guy loves the local german lords daughter but since shes a lord and he's a slave they can never be. He trades his soul for a soul of a kratt (creature that you build out of random shit that does your bidding but grows unstable and kills you, the only way to stop it is to give it a task it cannot beform). The guy tries to trick satan (not the biblical satan) by giving him three drops of chickens blood instead of his own but since everyone tricks the satan that way he finds out and still takes the real blood. The girl is all like notice me senpai and does some shit with the local witch and becomes a werewolf (estonian mythological werewolves were only women and they were actual wolves not hybrids). The guy later gets killed by satan and I dont know what happens to the girl. Also the girls father wants to give her in marriage to some old disgusting faggot who rapes her iirc. Also the scene in the manor house was something about the witch trolling some guy to simp to a manor servant and the guy later does some divine shit gaining the power of jesus and film ends with him violently killing the other servant and raping the woman. Its actually a very interesting and unique noire style film but the book is much better
