Not really exact same. While paki punjabis and few muslims in India wear Salwar Kameez (Which is mostly worn by women in India), Hindus, Sikhs, and most Indian Muslims wear Kurta - Paijama. Hindus also wear Kurta and Lungi/Dhoti. This is the traditional clothing of the subcontinent.
