Why does everyone act like British cuisine is terrible? As a chef in the east of England I can tell you that this isn’t true, things like beans on toast are a cheap poverty meal and not representative of the great dishes in this country
Why does everyone act like British cuisine is terrible...
Beef wellington is breddy gud. Share more delicious dishes from your cunt.
>Why does everyone act like British cuisine is terrible?
because it is
give us 5 great dishes and I'll give you my thoghts
even the best of your cuisine is subpar compared to countries like mexico, china, italy, etc.
>As a chef in the east of England
opinion discarded
Beef well gbton..
I am never touching food from china ever again lmao
>mexico, china, italy
Biggest meme cuisines on the planet
Al those countries dishes are simpler than those in the uk, Italian dishes over rely on tomato sauce and purée, Mexican food is mostly kidney beans and sloppy minced meat and Chinese cuisine is literally responsible for the current health crisis
>Al those countries dishes are simpler than those in the uk
they aren't, and simplicity doesn't imply bad food, stop talking shite
>Mexican food is mostly kidney beans and sloppy minced meat
this is just wrong, and you wouldn't know cause your cunt doesn't have authentic mex restaurants.
>t. chi
Every country have good restaurants and high cousine, but what do the average people cook and eat?
it varies depending on social class and education
Haggis, steak and kidney pie, Lancashire hot pot, roast dinner
Also a lot of our “posh” dishes are our own takes on french dishes aka franglais
The point is that it's shit compared to other countries.
The poor people eat what they can afford, same as every country
lmao all of that sounds depressing
Honestly I'm tired of this meme. People just talk out of their ass with no idea about what British food really is. I grew to love british food and their love for simple things, hearty familial dishes and generous heart.
Eat a properly made Beef Wellington and come and tell me it's not great food.
You fucks are just dumb memsters, british food is actually up there with french and italian cousine.
What's depressing about it?
t. brit on vacation
No not really, I've lived with Italians and they were absolutely woeful cooks outside of the boomer
the lack of variety or spices. i'm used to eating flavorful mexican food with lots of seasonings
He is literally telling the truth, also your country somehow made hotdogs disgusting by putting cheap processed meat in them instead of proper sausage meat
all those dishes have seasonings, stop talking shite
Seasoning that’s not spicy does exist
Holy fuck you're retarded
You couldn't leave any sooner
stop eating bats
this thread making johnny foreigners mad
t. bat eater, dog devourer and cat gourmet
seething chinkoid lmao
i am not wh*te so i don't care for american cuisine. i mostly eat mexican food
lmao just onions and salt? lmao.
there are millions of seasonings that aren't spicy, white boi
Pretty sure not all Chinese food is the same, they have literally over a billion people and many different ethnic groups in their country
stop eating dog
>there are millions of seasonings that aren't spicy, white boi
I know I’m a chef
Mexican food is literally over reliant on spice though
I’m white
Why do you ruin all your meat pastries with flavorless gelatin? The texture is revolting to me.
Gelatin holds it together
english pastry is top notch meat pie are just delicius
>lmao just onions and salt?
Yeah and gravy, pepper, meat drippings, mint sauce, horse radish etc
Being this delusional:
>The traditional meal is rarely eaten nowadays, apart from on Sundays. A recent survey found that most people in Britain eat curry! Rice or pasta dishes are now favoured as the 'British Dinner'.
Nice "british" cousine you have over there
Most working class people eat past and curry as they are cheap and easy to make
that's factory stuff, make it fresh
Pasta*
>Chinese cuisine is literally responsible for the current health crisis
maybe but i'm talking about popular chinese dishes such as orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, etc
>Mexican food is literally over reliant on spice though
not really. stuff like tomatoes, avocados, lime, onions, garlic, peppers, cilantro, cheese, etc are staples.
>salt and pepper
pretty basic
>gravy, meat drippings
same thing, and don't really count as a "seasoning"
>mint sauce
sounds pretty disgusting desu
There’s better ways surely.
Anyway here’s what my british nana made for Christmas dinner
What is your point exactly? Pretty much everywhere on the planet eats pasta or rice because they are cheap easy to produce staple foods
>Mexican food is literally over reliant on spice though
Ketchup is considered spicy in Britbongistan
Looks nice, where in Britain is she from?
>same thing, and don't really count as a "seasoning"
gravy is a type of sauce which most people consider seasoning
>peas, potatoes, meat
this is literally all white people know how to make
not really, we eat lots of things
British food is great
nothing beats a hotpot or cottage pie on a cold day
all you eat is some form or variety of unseasoned meat and vegetables
flavour enhancer (sauces)
ok. still subpar compared to more flavorful cuisines like indian or mexican food.
>gravy is a type of sauce which most people consider seasoning
Not really, it's just a sauce. It can be used as a condiment, but a seasoning would be something you put in the food while cooking it. (Nothing prevents you from seasoning your condiment though. In fact you're supposed to do so. Still, the food itself should have some sort of seasoning, not to rely on the condiment.)
same for mexico, but with some paprika
>Why does everyone act like British cuisine is terrible? As a chef in the east of England I can tell you that this isn’t true, things like beans on toast are a cheap poverty meal and not representative of the great dishes in this country
you don't know what you're talking about. i'm mex and never use paprika
why do you care about what thirdies say? cuisine is not what we're known for lmao, why are you trying to defend it so much
>It can be used as a condiment, but a seasoning would be something you put in the food while cooking it.
food is often cooked in gravy, idiot
>food is often cooked in gravy, idiot
Food is also often cooked in broth and yet nobody would call broth a "seasoning", moron.
>all this flavor scares the white man
Just retarded memes people love to spout
i dont get why people are so obsessed with "cuisine" anyways when these same retards will just eat at McDonalds 7 days of the week
broth is literally a seasoning added to make gravy and sauces, stop embarrassing yourself
looks like diarrhea lol
