Is it true that in Europe, you can only buy alcohol in government run stores?
Is it true that in Europe, you can only buy alcohol in government run stores?
No
In the Nordics , elsewhere no
in scandinavian countries only
Yes
>government run stores
?
yes
no why do you think that?
Not true
Yes, in Norway. Only products with
anything over 5,5%
This LOL, what kind of communist shithole is he talking about?
You can get beer and stuff in normal grocery stores. After a certain percentage it's limited to the alcohol stores
Not here. Is it true that you can't drink a beer in public in the US?
I fucking wish it was only Nordics
Yes. It's called a centrally planned economy, does wonders for people with oil and at least average IQ.
yes thats why they have these brown bags to hide it
>government run stores
do americans really believe this?
>implying government run services aren't the sensible choice in many cases
It’s true in my province :(
Yeah, you're a communist.
t.
>going for governament run services
why do you hate the honest hard working merchandise sellers of your country?
In Spain you buy alcohol in the supermarket, where else do you expect to buy it?
And you're an idiot
There are a couple of euro countries where you can't drink in public. I remember being told off by a Polish policeman for drinking outside, I thought he was playing a prank on me
Maybe but, I'm free.
In Sweden yes. You can only buy alcohol from the state owned store called Systembolaget
I don't care about the profit margins of some hypothetical low-life vodka peddler.
Fail to see the benefit of the state being the only one to sell booze, what's the point in that?
everything in grocery stores stops at 4.7%. for anything higher than that you gotta go to the aptly named "wine monopoly".
Our Alko stores are government owned monopolies and it's managed by the department of health. But I guess if you mean in the sense that they run each store then no
Not here
Is based. Drunk people are annoying.
Can you really say now that you can get fined by stepping outside?
>Europe is a country
kill yourself
Much better to pay for failing services and unprofitable ventures by the governament. Right?
I can buy beer at McDonald's and the campus store/restaurant of my university, dude.
What do you think about SNCF
It’s banned here too
people just pour beer to empty juice bottles
Yes. In Sweden those stores are called systembolaget. I think they exist in all nordic countries.
And then get drunk and arrested
I guess to control the prices. Doesn't really make any difference otherwise, since the Alkos are usually right next to the supermarket anyway
LOL no. Every cop in my village know me, they won't do shit.
I'm thinking it's great.
>failing
>unprofitable
And what does it matter to you whether the service turns profit or not? How is it better that some middleman gleans all the excess wealth generated?
Based
this. noone will tell us what to do xD
But it's government owned
Do you have incels in your government? What's the point there? Stopping people from having a couple of beers with their picnic or down the beach, what's going on, literally just banning fun
>I'm free because the local law enforcement is corrupt!
Dude...
>campus store/restaurant of my university,
In fact there is a selection of several breweries even.
the booze warehouse is the most important building in minnesota
I've seen vending machines with beer in Germany, we have a lot to learn
Are you serious?
Very odd, suppose our state does the same thing it just makes shops obey the rules and puts loads of tax on
we have more freedoms when it comes to alcohol than you
You sometimes see students cracking a beer during the last Friday/Thursday afternoon lecture in order to get into the mood to go out later.
Yeah, and don't you think railroads are way more important to be nationalized than booze shops? Retard.
Yeah, that's what freedom looks like. No laws, no shit.
>you can only buy alcohol in government run stores?
I think they have that in Sweden. Not on mainland Europe anywhere, though.
I think the booze stores might be more pleasant this way. They all have basically the same stock and they're all up to the same standards. Taxis used to be a monopoly here too but then it was opened up for competition, and now you have no idea if you can even trust the driver because it's some shady third worlder who will do a detour
Nordics used to drink themselves to death a hundred years ago so I would argue that it was more important at the time. today however...
The other Finn said that government run services are better sometimes, and then you basically just went "no", yet you think that a government run train service is fine
>imagine being this cucked without being a Swede
There's a reason why there are so many ways to cheaply reach Tallinn from Helsinki.
do you live in the norf?
no one cares about people having a glass of wine in the park. it’s retards drinking their brains out every weekend and starting fights in the streets at 3am. is this fun to you?
Okay then why don't you guys drink yourselves to death like you used to?
No Souf, Essex. And I don't think that would be a problem in Denmark surely, definitely because it's not here. If people are going to get proper drunk they do it in a pub, noone gets really drunk in parks (unless you're talking about tramps)
Beesti actually tightened its alcohol taxation and some degenerates drive all the way to Latvia to get cheap booze now.
I mean all I can say is that it hasn't really ever bothered me. Though I go to Alko very seldom anyway since I don't really drink wine or booze. The taxi thing sucks though, they all used to have nice cars and you knew you wouldn't overpay, now it's a bunch of Somalis with some kind of beat up shitbox who will try to scam you. I don't feel like ferries could really have a comparable situation where they just take you via Riga
Becausel life is on easy mode now
parks are filled with drug users and drunk people. in some areas of copenhagen you can find drunk greenlanders on streetcorners.
and people being drunk in the streets is a thing in britain, don’t lie. you probably have it worse than us
Last I heard. Corona lost 30% of their sales since the outbreak. I bet it's even more now.
All the old alcoholics are dying out and young people do drugs now
No it isn't
Oh yeah people being drunk in the street is definitely common, but all these pictures you are see are from the end of the night at kick out time. You definitely don't have people drinking in high streets the whole night long
No? Is it true in America you can't buy alcohol in supermarkets?
They will have to rebrand
