Is it true that the Maoist revolution annihilated Chinese culture? I wanted to visit China only to see it, but I’m afraid of being disappointed..

It's not true

The great leap forward had destroyed their culture quite thoroughly

Chinese actually look to Koreans for Confucianism because all the stuff in China were burned and destroyed

What a bummer

Their culture was just actualized

This is how Koreans pay tribute to Confucius, held at the oldest university in Korea

>ywn check out OG China
screw you history class for making me fascinated with them

Yes. And for that, every pinko deserves the rope.

Reminder tha Xi has been following Confucianism since day 1 which is precisely why he is so hostile towards religion. Pretty much every asian cunt (excluding Best Korea of course) is non-traditional and globalist nowadays so China is a breath of fresh air. Pic related, it's what "real china" looks like under Ameriglobo vassalage.

Depends on what you want to see...

Xi'an, for instance, is a good place to visit if you want to see the old old, since that was the historical capital.

You can still visit Taiwan, where they kept it alive

>You can still visit Taiwan, where they kept it alive
see

Yeah I guess that one parade they had invalidates all of the festivals and traditional clothing they kept alive

>they had invalidates all of the festivals and traditional clothing they kept alive
Well China traditionally never had a gay pride parade yet the Taiwanese government forced one on their own citizens after forcing gay marrige on them as well though I suppose you like that being a leaf and all.

Pretty much, yes

Yes and no
Damaged yes, as in those fucks teared drawings, take down buildings and hammered some Buddhist sculpture
Annihilated no, as in Mao nigger failed to kill all of them and ruin all of them

Reminder that the CCP considers the cultural "revolution" to be a mistake and currently goes out of its way to celebrate traditional chinese culture provided it isn't wildly inappropriate (i.e. han supremacist.)

>tfw there is no 天子 anymore
At last, you too perished.. old foes of ours....

What's wrong with Han supremacy

Minorities get rowdy.

>implying being straight or lgbt has jackshit to do with chinese culture
Nice deflection you got there zhang

china sucks unless i am its soul emperor/thread

you're going to be disappointed. just don't go

It was the final nail in the coffin but it was on the verge of dying since the late 19th century when they were unable to cope with overpopulation and the lack of technological progress.

thinking about allying with the Methodist Church and going on a landgrab campaign in China. good idea? yes or no

A lot of the festivals and shows are still there and tourist traps (temples, relics, etc) are still intact

last time I went there they had a minority village where they pay people to do funny stuffs (make traditional clothes, traditional music, etc)
Seems like they want to restore the minority culture but don't know how, it feels kind of forced and sad

the modern shows are larger than anything I have ever seen
traditional temples are still intact and the street food is quite nice
only complain I have is that a lot of the people there cannot speak english and there is construction going on 24/7 everywhere so it's kind of hard to sleep sometimes

they also sell those weird meats and foods like insects, starfish and crocodiles (Hainan, Guangzhou and Guilin) but apparently those are tourist traps, they said locals rarely eat those and prefer pork instead
never seen bat or dog in those cities

>no more confucianism
sounds good to me

Xi resurrected Confucianism. Meanwhile Worst Korea has traded Confucius for Yahweh.

The party only allows controlled, proscribed forms of culture which are monitored carefully to not pose any possible political menace.

legalism > taoism > confucianism
confucianism is the school of thought for the cucks, which fit korea's description.

the locals are friendly and welcoming, but they shun any conversation about politics
when I ask them about the CCP and Xi Jinping they lower their voice and say "that's just how things are around here"
traditional culture is still alive in the sense that people still do rituals and stuffs, but maybe their mindset about life in general is totally different as compared to Taiwanese and Singaporean Chinese, mainlanders seem to put more emphasis on family above anything else as compared to these two countries and just give little to no shit about people outside their bubble

>The party only allows controlled, proscribed forms of culture which are monitored carefully to not pose any possible political menace.

Try being opposed to vaccination and you will realize that most cunts are like that.

Non-meme answer, actual physical, tangible manifestations of culture (temples, artifacts, art, etc.) were destroyed, but more subtle aspects of culture still persist, because the way of life of a nation of more than a billion isn't something that can be destroyed within a single generation.

>Was Mao incredibly based and destroyed a Monarchic-Theocratic-Patriarchal cutler
yes

maybe that's why mainlanders act rowdy in public places, they keep their houses neat and tidy but they just don't care about public utilities and facilities, their entire world seem to revolve around their family and friends

Mao was mostly retarded but he was absolutely right about landlords. Reminder that China still doesn't have any and has one of the highest rates of millennial home ownership on the planet.

Isn't this 100% the opposite of the stereotypical communist mindest?

Attached: question catgirl4534.jpg (950x720, 392.69K)

Chinese are not communists, they are born businessmen

yeah, actually, one of my favorite scene in chinese movies is about that:
youtube.com/watch?v=P_5ryh9ND68

the monologue at 4:05 gives the vibes.
Most art form were highly influenced by monarchy and Confucius. Mao didn't like those so art and culture were transformed. It's also important to note that actors were put at the same social level as prostitute in China.

if you have 2h to kill, here is a fifth generation movie about the whole casual life from 1940s to the cultural revolution

Gay culture is objectively a Western import
>just give little to no shit about people outside their bubble
Why are Chinese so patriotic then?

This. The current CCP regime in many ways reminiscent the previous Qing dynasty, besides the king is now called president.

Xi had literally make himself lifetime president last year through legislation.

I doubt normalfag chinks give a shit about politics
it also has to do with the fact that CCP has done quite a good job in repairing their fuckups in the last decade, so the western hostility towards the CCP seems alien to them

>Gay culture is objectively a Western import
dumbest shit I read today

Gay marriage and gay rights are 100% western bullshit.

>n Ancient Fujian, the region had developed a sexual culture isolated from that of the rest of the Chinese empire. During the Qing Dynasty, the local population began worshipping a Taoist deity known as Tu Er Shen, who served as the guardian of same-sex love.
no wonder taiwan is the first place in asia to legalize lgbt.

They're not tho.
Also last time I checked Beijing provides dependent residency status to same-sex couples. What does that say about China?

>literally just making shit up

>Gay culture is objectively a Western import
ayy lmao

Now you admit that gay rights are not some alien and corrupt western concept for China.

But they are

>>literally just making shit up
How did I? I didn't say gay marriage is already legal, what I stated instead is that gay couples have a legal status in Beijing which goes aganinst your dumbass notion about gay rights being western import. Is your bugmen robot logic chip having a glitch?

But they aren't

>forcing gay marrige
Is it mandatory to enter a gay marriage in Taiwan now?

It's probably more authentic than what's elft of japanese culture. My uncle went on vacation and said it was nice

well they did not annihilate their hate for women cause they aborted millions and now they have millions of bachelors

>acting as if china doesn't have any intellectuals
