This is why I gave up becoming fluent in French. Not interested in talking with them; I just learned enough to be able to read French literature (with the aid of a dictionary). My best friend is French and he wants me to keep learning, but the experience with every other Frenchman (well, with the exception of /fr/ and a grenouille in /lang/) was terrible.
