better than pasta rice and potatoes retard bong
Potatoes and their varieties have a crop yield that is one of the best P4P in the world. It was a big reason populations exploded here and around Western Europe when the new world was discovered. Enjoy your phytic acid
>anti nutrients
It's actually pretty nutritious
Nigga it's literally considered a superfood
Look at the nutritional value above, Chicano. Potatoes absolutely mog this shit
No point when you can't absorb half the nutrients in it
isn't "bad phytic acid" just pseudo science bullshit ? then your beans are bad too , lentils, oat all bad
What is it?
Go back to eating plumpynut mbani
boiled buckwheat grains, very tasty
You'd need to take copious amounts of vitamin C to avoid vital mineral deficiencies my anaemic friend
sorry just looked at the image more closely they aren't boiled yet
>Buckwheat has become popular as a health food due to its high mineral and antioxidant content. Its benefits may include improved blood sugar control.

>While buckwheat does have a significant amount of phytic acid, a nutrient inhibitor, it also has a lot of phytase – the enzyme needed to break down phytic acid.
Buckwheat flour is very commonly used here for crepes.
I have never even heard of it desu.
I just googled it. And according to the Dutch government, who gives us food advice about literally everything, it's not really eaten here because the production is unreliable. Not all grains are ripe for harvest at the same time and the plant is sensitive to weather conditions. That's why we don't eat it a lot.
Na man, pic related is Pizzoccheri, a traditional Swiss dish made from buckwheat noodles and some other stuff and it is just delicious. But yeah, Russians eat a lot of buckwheat.
Never even seen this for sale desu and we can get all sorts of exotic stuff in London, do you just boil it up and use it like bulgur wheat or what?
>pic related
it wasn't good at containing famines. Potatoes were. So most western cunts grew into growing more potatoes, less anything else
Looks very hearty
It's gotten a little more common. Still not very common though.
I don’t actually know anything about or care about buckwheat I just wanted to insult you
Ah yes, grain for allergic people.
eto gretchka?
Also contains significant amounts of protein inhibitors. That little quick google search you did doesn't debunk that it contains more phytic acid than it's enzyme
Japanese soba noodles are made from buckwheat. I think that and crepes are the only forms I've eaten.
Russia and Ukraine didn't starve because buckwheat doesn't grow well. They starved because Stalin took their food.
It's a winter dish caloric bomb, buckwheat noodles, potatoes and savoy cabbage cooked together, then garnished with sage, garlic, butter and cheese.
This variant is Pizokel, it's like Spaetzle made from buckwheat.
sorry, again.
Stop posting shit no one will ever eat
A real artery clogger, I'm sure that's just what you want after a winter day where it actually gets cold. Only been to Switzerland once and only for 2 days in Geneva and I don't think I managed to eat much authentic stuff
Sounds tasty and good for cold days.
>A real artery clogger
Probably nothing compared to a lot of dishes here. In the South, a traditional breakfast is corn grits with plenty of butter and salt mixed in, and maybe some bacon.
It's a Grisons recipe. Their signature dish is Capuns, inside out dumplings, the dough is on the inside of chard leaf. They usually make the dough half and half wheat/buckwheat and it is served in a milk sauce.
It's ok if you work it off, but then I can eat so much fat only in cold weather when I need something to burn. I'd never eat something like that in summer.
Looks stupid. Deep fry it in chippy oil and then we'll see
Sorry mate, our food is bland, best I can do for you is this.
Looks delish but bit strange, looks liek someone drizzled a cup of cold milk over the top
This is an english dumpling, its made out if flour and a special type of fat called suet (which you get from around organs). You put them in stew, the bottom half boils and the top half floats and steams up, very tasty
Always wanted to try 'grits', is it just like a savoury porridge?
Yeah grits can be tasty. They're savory (though you can add some sweet toppings) but have a different texture from oatmeal. I usually put a little cheddar cheese on them instead of salt and butter.
WHO GIVES A SHIT BRO
LOOOOOOL
Is that buckwheat?
Nigga if only you knew about picrel
According to the government buckwheat is not as healthy as grains. But it can be used as an addition to it.
Also, if you eat a healthy and balanced diet phytic acid rarely cause a shortage of minerals.
Thanks gubberment.
>Looks delish but bit strange, looks liek someone drizzled a cup of cold milk over the top
Actually you boil them in a mix of soup stock and milk and reduce that mix while you cook it for 20 minutes. If you want it to look real nice, you top it with some fresh cream into the sauce. It's an easy recipe once you get around preparing the char leaves.
Love your beef stew, is that cooked with beer or something?
I like it but like all superfood it's best not to eat a lot of them
Fucking love me some Galette.
>our food is bland
naaah based swiss dairy lobby pushing raclette and fondue back in the 70s making winter great again
I can appreciate a nice mush
I see not as weird then. Also funny how you call it 'chard' we almost exclusively refer to it as 'swiss chard' funnily enough
We do have beer with beef sometimes but that mainly goes in our pies. Our stews are probably the same as what the rest of europe does desu except we put balls of floury fat in them sometimes
we just don't know it
The food advises of our government are hilariously impossible to follow.
never had it or seen it. i usually just eat oats, does it taste like that?
Funny how you have a government repository of foods and how they're grown and their harvesting and yield and stuff, you really turned agriculture into science
No, Trigo Sarraceno isn't just a thing here, except in a small region of Girona.
>Trigo Sarraceno
funny, we call it sarazin here
They certainly love their tea.
It’s always funny when brits are acting uppity about food
I like it just fine. Works great as garnish in restaurants, whether it be roasted or crystallized.
I absolutely love buckwheat, my favorite kasha, usually eat it with milk and masdaam cheese.
Recently I tried soba for the first time, it's amazing got hooked up right away. Sasuga Japan!
we're talking long time before Stalin, Goblito
If you want to come to Lombardy after the coronavirus crisis is over you may very well visit Valtellina and taste the orginal pizzoccheri.
In the Alps buckwheat is quite popular because it grows well in the mountain climate.
