Cultural reasons, also they are advantaged towards those twos sport for different reasons ( Ape index, fast twitch, low bodyfat ), but it's not as much as some would like to believe.

mostly a culture thing. if you are some black nigga growing up in the US you are typically in a poor neighborhood and your main black idols are either in sports or music. because your school funding is based on the local taxes it is usually shit for education and spends more on something like athletics that the kids will like. so youre main idols are nfl/nba stars, your education is shit, and you dont care about education anyways so it is easy to just focus all your time into wanting to go play football or basketball somewhere. these sports balls are pretty cheap too so you can play and train whenever and wherever you have space to run around.
