>Your house is on fire, and the people whom you have trusted with your care are not trying to put it out. Even though they knew it was coming, and could see what happened to the neighbours as they were overwhelmed with terrifying speed, the UK government has inexplicably chosen to encourage the flames, in the misguided notion that somehow they will be able to control them.
>We talk about vaccines generating herd immunity, so why is this different? Because this is not a vaccine. This is an actual pandemic that will make a very large number of people sick, and some of them will die. Even though the mortality rate is likely quite low, a small fraction of a very large number is still a large number. And the mortality rate will climb when the NHS is overwhelmed. This would be expected to happen, even if we make the generous assumption that the government were entirely successful in restricting the virus to the low-risk population, at the peak of the outbreak the numbers requiring critical care would be greater than the number of beds available. This is made worse by the fact that people who are badly ill tend to remain so for a long time, which increases the burden.
Everyone with more than two brain cells knew this when they made the announcement. Fucking monkeys run the entire Anglosphere.
Elijah Long
They said Britain couldn't beat Argentina in the Falklands, everyone else can fuck off we have literally never been wrong
Ayden Martinez
Good.
Lincoln Nelson
the british government will be responsible for hundreds of death, this is literally crime against humanity
Evan Cooper
>the british government will be responsible for hundreds of death, this is literally crime against humanity This should be balanced against the fact that they will kill lots of Britains.
Carter Russell
older britons are nicer
Benjamin Cox
Why did brits suddenly turned retarded these past 5 years or so?
Kayden Hughes
Governments are not supposed to make sure you're healthy. I for one welcome the eternal anglo's decision.
Leo Walker
American influence.
Juan Walker
Implying they ever were. Most anglos are braindead slaves to a handful of masters.
Pointless is to keep the Health system of the country in hands of someone who doesn't want to stop illnes from spreading.
Parker Lopez
I love how the one crazy country that decides to not contain at all and go for herd immunity is the one european country Trump decided not to close the borders for
Ryan Nguyen
>for hundreds of death If 60% of the population gets infected even a 0,% mortality rate is in the tens of thousand or even more
Easton Richardson
We have a political culture that's all about making things look good while not taking any decisive action.
Our health care started straining at around 900 cases of covid-19, so the new guideline is not to test anyone that doesn't need immediate hospitalization.
We're all going to get it. We'll survive or we wont.
Zachary Roberts
Yes, but you can't develop immunity to coronaviruses
Covid-19 will be recurring every season just like the common cold and the flu
Anthony Allen
>but you can't develop immunity to coronaviruses Yes you can, that's how you recover from an infection. That immunity, however, does not necessarily work on other strains of the virus.
Caleb Murphy
>we'll see this unfold live on Yas Forums as hundreds of bongs are refused treatment and die B-based?
I doubt bongs on Yas Forums are 80+ years old or suffer from cystic fibrosis.
Reckon it's possible that the britbongs are secret chaos cultists, hence their desire for it to spread?
Aiden Russell
but it is herd immunity the weak and old will die off and the strong carry on running
Thomas Cook
Jews India China The Empire
Fuck mate you have a history of being mostly wrong since ww1.
Henry Torres
Unironically this. We would have lockdowns going on even next year at this rate. We will die from starvation not this virus Just let boomers die
Aiden Bailey
Based plan, the survivors will become immune and the weak will be purged
Evan Morales
You do understand the point is to ensure the weak and the old won't die off, right? There the group that receives the herd immunity from the greater populaces immunity.
Blake Torres
we were right on all those things desu
Robert Ross
You can't shoot and bomb viruses.
Ayden Phillips

What is the real difference, if any, between "flatten the curve" and "herd immunity"? Its the same thing
Ian Cook
No that's survival of the fittest. Come on man, Charles Darwin was from YOUR country, how do you not know this?
Angel Barnes
right but this means having the old and weak in isolated bunkers for 6 months that's just not practical it's better, easier, and quicker to just let them all die off straight away plus then that opens up the housing markets and potentially opens up new job opportunities
Ethan Rodriguez
Herd immunity is one way to flatten the curve but not the only one. It's basically just a subset of a larger class. Quarantine and hand washing are other ways to flatten the curve and are more effective in this case since vaccines for this strain of coronavirus are only just starting to enter clinical trials.
Juan Lewis
The tories want old people to die, because they see them as nothing but a burden to society. If only they'd figure out how to make money out of it, we'd be seeing mass culling of the elderly happening in Britain.
It's just they simply don't have the hospitals and medical services to attend the outbreak because le 350 gorrillion moneys Boris was going to throw onto their health services as soon as Brexit happened are not going there for some mysterious reason, so they'll just hide under that shitty narrative for retards.
Which is fine for me. I only demand they stay in their lovely island enjoying rampant coronachan and we make sure to quarantine their island so that no briton or anyone from there enters here to spread their cancer.
Herd immunity just means that as the number of immune individuals go up the probability of non-immune individuals of getting infected goes down. It's simply a matter of there being fewer opportunities for the virus to spread. It's a statistical phenomena.
Flattening the curve is more about avoiding massive spikes of new cases, so that they don't overwhelm the healthcare system.
Jeremiah Lee
I am not looking out for vaccines I am looking out for better treatments myself. FDA won't approve any of the treatments because they are retarded and make you wait weeks if not months if not years for approval on anything medical related but at least treatments can save people in the nations with balls.
I think quarantine is more about containment, getting R0 below 1 like China etc did.
Hunter Hall
this would be credible if old people weren't the ones contunually voting them in
Eli Anderson
>Yuro flag >Can't help himself but mention Brexit Rent free, Europoor. You aren't getting anymore of our dosh to waste due to the incompetence of your unhygienic nation, Epicentre of Europe. And no, our tourists will never assimilate into your country. Deal with it, you disgusting M*doid.
It looks like the jannies of Yas Forums have gone from the deletion stage of coronavirus threads to the acceptance stage.
Kayden Thompson
There is no treatment. It's a virus. It cannot be cured. Your only option is to try and prevent yourself contracting it. If that fails your only option is to let the virus run its course and manage the symptoms as best you can.
Some anti-viral drugs exist but most only work on very specific strains and generally require you to start administering them within a day or less after the onset of illness to be most effective, even then they don't tend to work terribly well, nothing like antibiotics. And none of this even matters anyway since there's no anti-viral for COVID-19 at the present time.
Aaron Brown
Not all treatment means cure. There are treatments, you listed some.
Blake Roberts
>Get immunity by getting sick first Absolutely brilliant. This is not fucking chickenpox.
Joseph Sullivan
Well I'm not really sure what he meant by "better treatments for himself" then. Everyone should know by now that you should minimize contact with other people and wash your hand thoroughly by this point. Since vaccines aren't out yet there's literally nothing else you can do until this pandemic either starts to wane, a vaccine is released, or you get sick.
Samuel Sanders

>There is no treatment. It's a virus. It cannot be cured. Tell this to all the different treatment trials which are ongoing and scientific papers that have already been written, because apparently all those scientists and doctors are all wasting their time because "its a virus" and you, a literal retard, know better.
Camden Myers
>One of our chief medical officers in charge of the gov covid19 policy >Wash them often, wash them even when you normally wouldn’t and wash them with soap for 20 seconds at a time. >I’ve opted for Prince’s Raspberry Beret as my own personal handwash song. You can choose your own.
From what I've read, particularly from the Lancet article, it appears to be capable of correlated loop chains, long-term dichroitic inhibition and innate caspase structures. Its von-Wille pathophysiological agents sub-units exhibit non-toxic repair dysgenesis utilizing phospholipid functional kinase. This is in line with novel medial dismustase and active catalytic time-course but surprisingly its non-androgenic caspase traffic seems similar to short-term wild-type proliferation though if it's capable of ectopic negative transcriptome and can endure equal unilateral stress, it's not unusual.
If its specific epidemiological expression engineered arrayed kinase coagulates strongly with unregulated triplex mutant retroposon moderate positive transposon then engineered non-covalent chains should be applicable for a potential cure issuing generic experimental mutagenesis with phospholipid proteomic modifications.

This social darwinistic, de-facto eugenics plan is the best possible solution. Other countries like Japan and the Nordics are essentially doing it too, we're just being blunt about it. Lock downs haven't worked in Italy or China (who is now just waiting for it to burn out too) nor do they address getting reinfected by the outside world if they even do, whilst grinding your economy to a halt. Ideally the upcoming weather and finding a vaccine speeds up the herd immunity process. Stop being a whiny Guardian-reading titty baby.
>implying it isn't just a way to avoid having to track infections Trump is doing the same shit. It's not brave or smart. It's cowardice, pure and simple.
