I heard you are supposed to melt those into coffee, but i prefer to just eat them

You can eat them any way you like but they are quite nice to dip in your coffee. Only for a few seconds otherwise it breaks apart and you get sludge in the bottom of your cup.

You can also place them on top of a hot coffee or tea so they get warm and the syrup melts. It's pretty nice but not needed.
You can also briefly put them in the toaster. Most people don't do these things though as far as I have seen

Nope. They tried to sell it a few times but it never caught on to be worth it. There's pic related but it's not really like vla, it's pretty much just pudding (so firmer in consistency). Never seen any other flavours than chocolate, vanilla or both like in the pic, though.

nope, it doesn't seem to sell here, only exist and even then probably only close to the border. We even had a really tiny Albert Heijn in our city for a while and they didn't even sell vla. I remember being really disappointed about that
