I've read some journals from people who went through the hell of the dissolution of Yugoslavia and consecutive conflicts. The two facts that I remembered the most were

Toilet paper is all you need, don't buy canned food or other foods that lasts long. It will just expire, toilet paper will never expire so buy it in bulk before it's out of stock. I already have a 10 year stock of toilet paper in my bunker myself. I'm looking to buy up my neighbour property to be able to store more toilet paper but so far he's been hesitant to sell his space. Either way don't buy any toilet paper because I want to add it to my collection!

I've been stocking all kind of utilities for a long time. I can easily survive 40 years without external help.

i don't get it either, just like in communist countries toilet paper is always scarce
