Masks are pointless. They're only for people who are already infected to help not pass it on. The virus isn't airborne so it does nothing except maybe stop you from accidentally touching your own face.

the virus can spread by aerosolised droplets based on multiple studies. surgical masks are less effective but still effective according to the CDC, respirators are very effective, protective glasses are a nice bonus. I've got some spare ffp2s

she has rheumatoid arthritis and dementia and my dad has to look after her, cut her food, wash her and wipe her arse etc. while she yells at him for doing it saying she can do it herself when she's 100% unable and repeating the same questions a million times a day it's genuinely taking a toll on him at this point

being a person who doesn't see himself growing to such an age or tolerating being so infirm and dependent it all makes me very uncomfortable

I wouldn't have expected it. It's suicide for whichever party isn't wearing the trousers, unless they openly go into it saying they'll merge the two parties. But that seems an overreaction because SF aren't necessarily permanently the second biggest party, if they can be made to lose appeal by the next election, and for FF in particular, killing FG once and for all might be in their interest.

I respect that the United Irishmen fought for an independent Ireland however they have fucked up Irish nationalism forever. Rather than it being about Ireland being Irish it allows for anyone to be Irish, from Billy Orangeman to Mboko and we are feeling the effects of it now. At least O'Neill declared he would kill and expel any Norman-Irish who did not join in the Gaelic struggle and was going to ethnically cleanse the Pale to create a true Gaelic Ireland.
