What if you buy stocks and the market crashes?

consider investing in French stock
"Maisons du monde" is under 10€ today, it's worth at least 23. Eventually, investors will realize that people are, at most, going to postpone buying furniture for 2 months with an epidemy.

It already crashed this morning. Some stock dropped by 20% for no clear reason - just panic.
Oil companies are down by as much as 35% (though there is cause for concern, in their case).

Buy low, sell high. And today, it is low.

What's the GFC?

Global Financial Crisis
aka the subprime thingy of 2008

I can buy because banks are stopped here.
:(

It's going lower though. Don't try to catch a falling knife.

>It's going lower though

No. I bought utilities, food stores, defense systems, furniture stores, book/game stores.
Already climbed back by +3% in the past two hours.

This is Mexican crisis of '94, Asian crisis of '97, dot com crash of '00, subprime crash of '08 all over again. I made a bundle of money in all of these. This is our chance for "normal people" - buy during a panic then wait 1-5 years until it climbs back.

wat?

>Already climbed back by +3% in the past two hours.

Update: I made +5% in less than 3 hours

If you found good stocks at a discount price, you should keep it as long as you can.

Yeah because the value of a company is not determined by consumers at all
this, I'd even say, buy reverse leverage during the bear phase then buy leveraged indexes during the pump while also stacking up on solid companies stocks.

>$3 dollars a barrel
it's over, american hegemony is finished

The country declared bankruptcy yesterday.
People are only allowed to take 50$ every weak and you can't make transactions.
The Lebanese lost all of their money.

>BEIRUT: Lebanon will default on its debts for the first time in its history, Prime Minister Hassan Diab announced Saturday. Lebanon's foreign currency reserves dropped to "critical and dangerous levels," he said, preventing the small Mediterranean country from settling the $1.2 billion Eurobond payment maturing on Monday. The default marks a new chapter in the crisis and could have severe repercussions on the tiny country if foreign lenders take legal action against Lebanon. The currency has already lost up to 60% of its value on the dollar on the black market and banks have imposed crippling capital controls on cash withdrawals and transfers.

RIP user. We had a great time.

maduro posting while on vacation in france.

Shit. Got gold or anything?

Hmm, yeah I love it when meaningless numbers lose some value and the job market gets ruined for years.

>Got gold or anything?
>anything

Well, there are... "other forms" of payment.

>meaningless numbers

Those numbers bought me a house once and have supported my "rich NEET" career for years. They are far from meaningless.

noice, can you teach me a bit about how you did it? Whats your rationale in picking those stocks?

Carrefour: people are still going to eat - and for most, this means buying food in stores. I picked Carrefour because it is where I shop at (after trying everything)

ENGIE: energy (largely gas) company, people are still going to need to heat their home and cook. More than usual, actually, if they stay at home.

FNAC Darty: sell appliances and cultural products, people are going to need books, movies or games if they stay at home. They may wait two months to buy a fridge, but they'll still do it.

Maisons du monde: same as above with furniture. Also this stock was already ridiculously shorted by hedge funds. Bound to raise by 100% or more, even if it takes a few years.

Thales: war - never changes.

I have got few.

hmm, there could be a reason why they shorted maison du monde? Did you figure out why? Seems like you are a simple value investor and things are working out for you.

Pls get a trip or something so we can ask you investing questions, seriously.

Will bitcoin skyrocket even more with this?

do you have any reccomended reading for someone who is interested in learning how to invest money

go to uni, bruh.

It is. Doesn't mean they can't use it as a pretext for shady policies and actions. Not the first time they use a pandemic for that.

>This is not even our final form.

If you're not a boomer, you should be playing the long game anyway and holding your stock for decades. This is a good time to enter the market though since you can get stocks for a bargain.

>hmm, there could be a reason why they shorted maison du monde?

No, the results and prospects are both very good. It gives good dividends and will likely grow (turns out millenials buy more furniture/decoration, and replace it more often, than the previous generations, in France).
The reason it worked is because of the autistic CEO, who apparently can't be bothered to communicate about how great the company is doing, so private investors are scared to get in.

A fund just bought 13% of the capital and is clamouring for changes in direction to interest normal investors.

lol, hedgefund bros btfo.

But I can't buy There is no mone in Lebanon anymore.

what would I study ?

I just "buy low, sell high".

When to buy low? duh, on days like today... one day very ten years or so.
When to sell high? no idea, I'll wait till I'm satisfied and sell - then wait for the next krach to buy cheap again.

If you want to invest, do it now. In stocks like the ones I picked. Or even the exact same stocks.

Econ, Finance, Accounting choose 1, or choose 2 if you are like me.

ok that sounds like a plan. i should probably learn mathematics or somethng beforehand, however

> Accounting choose 1, or choose 2 if you are like me.

what is the difference between the two?
