don't think so, i think the biggest basins are around khouribga , mainland morocco. western sahara is very under explored, companies couldn't be fucked to explore the are because of the ongoing dispute, so no there isn't any petrol mines there, don't know where you read that. Correct, SADR's plea for independence is as legitimate as the riff's, even under a future government, that isn't a royal palace (American base) or a puppet government, Western Sahara should still be inseparable of "Morocco", as most western sahrawis live under the moroccan government's control anyway (and benefit from alot of things people in the northern part would dream of).
