Have they peaked already?
Not in a military-diplomatic way, but more as a dominant culture.
Have they peaked already?

Yes, American culture has become the blanket base for all western culture.
We peaked during the 90s. Now most countries at least have their own local music scenes and don't care about our garbage. I miss peak pax americana, where we made all the culture and all the rules. Fuck China and Russia. This is their fault.
Not even close. You're too used to recent history where empires rise and fall in the span of centuries.
No, we're pulling a Pharaonic Egypt on the world. Get ready for 4000 years of Americlap domination.
Local music scenes... which are all derived from American culture.

FUCK AMERIGOBLOS
KILL ALL AMERIGOBLOS
FREE AZTLAN
Our domestic peak was 1945-1965
Our global peak was 1991-2003
We are already rapidly deteriorating, it's just that our massive global industries have a ton of momentum from amerislave labor, and will make us look strong to outsiders.
I used to think America could be saved. Healed. Or at least halted in its decline. No, I realize now it must be reborn.
You know that weightlessness bit when you drive a car over the peak of a hill? That's where they are hovering, sort of stagnant since the 90s as says, right before it will all come crashing down. Some economists estimate that America and the West in general will decline in the 2030s, but for now, they are dominant and heavily influence media and culture in UK at least.
weren't the 90s even better than the 50s though?
like these anons pointed out
they were good for different reasons and cannot be exactly compared. the 50s offered prosperity and affordability for many (not all, but many) with traditional values in a strongly unified nation opposing a central foe (communism). the 90s saw the collapse of our main enemy and an explosion of technological advancement that offered great hope for the future. the 90s did not have the same level of unified societal trust between people and between people and government (the trust between people and government was severely eroded away in the Vietnam War), but this was really minor (even if you count the 90s militia movement).
now everything is shit and we don't have any of the pros from either era except for maybe advanced tech. things have fallen apart. feel free to cheer on our collapse, it's not like the US was bffs with Turkey atm anyways
I'm an unironic burgerboo though lol, it's Europe that I am not so sold on
Unironically American dominance is just getting started. Europe is sliding towards irrelevance
The 90s were one of the worst decades of the 20th century, dumb millennials look back on it with rose tinted glasses because they were playing Nintendo in the suburbs and didn’t experience the horrors of the crack or AIDs epidemic
urban America was seriously gnarly in the 90s
t. Muhammad
the Matrix was unironically right about America, it's peak was about then (1997-1999).
American power was at its height though. We could basically get the world to agree to invade any non-western country without any objections. It was based.
t. neocon jew
considering that they cant stop seething by seeing chinas industrial development, id say they are pretty much falling already
theyve been in decline for decades
>tfw when 9/11 was a 20 years ago
well, sorry to rain on your parade. America is breaking down from the inside out. We've become a grotesque parody of what we once were. The divides in our society are too extreme to be reconciled. The average American is lonelier and poorer, and fed a constant stream of nonsense from the internet. A lot of Americans do succeed, don't get me wrong, but we are living in a system that is now fundamentally hostile to a normal, mundane life, and I'm saying this as one of the lucky ones.
>local music scenes
>they're all wannabe American Rappers who LARP as Tupac or Biggie or Eminem
That sounds terrifying even if I am American myself
Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.
I think the US is going through a transition, it still the most dominant country in terms of technological innovation, the Chinese can't innovate, China depends on American technology. Whoever dominates the technologies of the future will be the most powerful country, I bet on the US as China doesn't have freedom of speech, for that reason
it cannot innovate.
The US hasn't innovated in years. That's why we are so butthurt about intellectual property. We won't take risks so we just sit on ideas and charge people to implement them
China built 5G before we did. We just had a century head start over them on technology, but that won't last either especially since literally half our tech comes from Chinese and Indian immigrants in Silicon Valley (since Zoomers have no interest in STEM). Our only hope is to keep luring people away from those countries, but in all reality that's a lost cause as they continue to develop. There's already been a trend of reverse brain-drain with tons of people from those countries going back there after college or a few years in the workforce.
Israel has always had their own music scene, since at least the 60s, but American culture still holds a tight grip on it. I'm a soldier and last week they asked me to participate in a tik tok for our unit :/
I'm sure you guys have a bunch of futuristic tech that would reinvent markets locked up in military applications like the microwave and such.

I like how Israel doesn't care about muh China like mutts do. They know they will always be behind those in power, pulling the strings.
again, the US will be dominant to outsiders and continue to wield considerable might, even if China rises to its full potential. At worst, the US will still dominate the entire Western Hemisphere.
I'm not talking about power though. I don't really give a shit about it (inb4 maintaining the petrodollar). I'm talking about the life of the American at home, in America. I'm talking about how the average American is basically some replaceable simp for some extremely woke immigrant. I'm talking about how we give dumbass 18-year-old children the responsibility of picking degrees that saddle them in tens of thousands in debt for mostly worthless degrees. I'm talking about how hateful we are of one another, and how we now view each other as flat-out evil. I'm talking about the fucked up social dynamics of men falling behind and how Americans are now more shut in and isolated than ever before. I'm talking about how we are crumbling from within. I don't give a shit how "scary" we are to Russia or China. I'd trade all our world might if it meant Americans could actually live happy, normal, affordable, lives where they liked one another again.
The US basically created the digital revolution, other countries just copied american technology. Over half of all content on the internet is in English, mainly because of the US.
>"I have no visibility into who the bad guys are. HELP!"
But they've always been the bad guys for the most part, the US army I mean. The nation and its citizens as a whole is more debatable.
so what? creating the base tech doesn't mean you claim innovative credit to everything that resulted from it. that's like saying china gets credit for everything innovative every written because they invented paper. the fact is we're lagging behind bad in tech, we basically just re-invent the wheel and repackage it or add dumb cosmetic features for people to CONSOOME
Israel cares about China in that they we hate Chinese for Corona
I've seen the opinion polls schlomo.
>Over half of all content on the internet is in English, mainly because of the US.
Thats less because of them inventing the internet and more because the english is the most commonly spoken language in the developed world.
Do you work in tech? I work as a full stack software developer and I'm constantly learning about some new tool coming out, both on frontend and backend
>I'd trade all our world might if it meant Americans could actually live happy, normal, affordable, lives where they liked one another again.
This. But this is the dilemma of a country as big and powerful as the U.S. whose currency is basically the world's underlying currency. The situation you said literally can't happen until we slide back into relative irrelevance. And even then given our size and demographics shifts I don't think it's possible, at least not like it was in our peak.
Not yet. They're in the republic->empire transition right now.
Looking at the direction technology is developing the very concept of the nation state is doomed. If somehow the US breaks apart then it is not just a problem for America but for the whole world. We see this happening with foreign election interference, fake news, etc, Democracy doesn't work anymore, it is outdated, we must find a new political system to organize society.
You watched too much CNN.
China will be the dominant nation in the 21st century, we are seeing the twilight of my fellow amerifats
yes. obviously we aren't literally doing nothing, but a ton of our effort is wasted for commerical purposes. My point being that a decade ago, China was like 30 years behind us in the tech field and now they're essentially matched, just a little behind overall and even ahead of us in certain fields/subfields, especially in important subfields of AI / machine learning etc.
That happened about 20 years ago bro.
In the Netherlands the Dutch government was also warning about fake news and foreign interference in our elections.
So they let the university of Amsterdam do a research on news sources and information which reach Dutch people (and especially on the far right side).
Turned out there was no fake news. So our government released the research report on a friday evening just before the parliament closed for vacation.
Exactly. We've created a monstrous system with our country at the center. America always has to be dominant, America's economy always has to be growing, America always has to always be growing in population, etc. Americans are struggling and need some time to recover? Sike, we can't have that. We need to keep growing. Suck in tons of immigrants to replace them to keep the meat grinder machine growing.
Not even our geopolitical "enemies" can afford to upset the global US-dollar based economy too much, otherwise they suffer too.
There's no actual solution that doesn't result in global economic collapse and massive suffering.
God damn it. God fucking damn it.
>Democracy doesn't work anymore
>election interference
America was never a democracy, and neither was any other country on earth. We're a giant plutocracy masquerading as a republic. Some russian accounts posting shit on Facebook isn't the reason our system is in danger of collapsing.
its obvious their progressive shit has failed and destroyed everything traditionally american. also white soibois believe progressive garbage is actually new cool stuff and on top of that, in fact, they dont have any other thing to do. they are creatively bankrupt.
Yas Forums is progressive leaning and many posters here are already indoctrinated that way, so even if i point it out nobody can objectively review it. its too late
>progressive shit
Nigger collapse started in earnest once our lovely right wing god emperor took over.
The right wing is making a massive comeback. You can see it across Europe and in the USA. The left always thinks they are a majority, but they aren't.
I don't envy China if they do end up becoming the most powerful country in the world in the future. They're just going to have to deal with the same bullshit, and it'll be even worse for them considering their population size and consumption requirements that come with it.
>asia and africa don't exist
Your "far right" is just ameriglobo bullshit. Same with most of europe. It's nothing but a sham.
The "new" right and left are a backlash against the system. Whether its populism or whatever-socialism, they're both at least unified by their anger of the way things are.
China won't experience the same thing as the US did because they don't adopt the same approach to foreign policy as the US. They don't stick their nose into the affairs of other countries, maintain bases everywhere and wage wars all the time
I'm with you, but as said, China isn't as war-hungry as America. It did make me happy though to see Russian military escalation across Syria recently, even bringing itself into some skirmishes with Turkey. Let Russia rule the whole middle east. I'm sick of it.
>The right wing is making a massive comeback.
lmao no they aren't, right wing people barely even exist anymore, religion and traditional values are dead in the West
The USA is one of the few other nations that at least partially shares our values and economic interest. We have an interest in keeping the USA close to us and on top.
It's not really rocket science. China is a dictatorship with opposing economic interests. Germany is a control freak that has nothing with freedom. India is pure chaos.
Shiiiiiiet. But seriously the 21st century might actually end up being the African century when you look at socioeconomics.
>The USA is one of the few other nations that at least partially shares our values and economic interest. We have an interest in keeping the USA close to us and on top.
So you are globalist and not right wing? Thanks for clarifying that. That's the issue with the right "resurgence." A globalist right will always fail because it will invariably promote globalism which is antithetical to right wing existence.
actually center liberal needs to speak out about the excessive progressivism and political correctness but they are terrified of being called racist sexist anti-lgbt etc and being socially killed, and theyve just been silent. this shit is a real vicious circle. its what happened during cultural revolution.
I'm not a globalist. But our nation cannot exist without like minded nations that have our back. The Netherlands used to be neutral nation, like Switzerland. But that never kept our nation safe.
liberalists are the future
globalism and right wing ideology don't have to contradict each other as long as you're the dominant force in the world and literally don't care about the other party's rights or opinions in any way
