Americans will NEVER forget 9/11, and will rub their mourning in the world's face.
So long as people whine about the whining it'll never stop being funny from every angle.

Is there anything on this list that america didnt completely deserve?
>Lusitania
>America
Unironically all of it
English ship with US passangers
>Pear Harbor
Your right, America did deserve to have the japs embarasses themselves by failing to blow up any aircraft carriers (all were at sea when it happened) and give them causus belli to fuck up japans imperial holdings
Though liberating Korea was a mistake, they didn't deserve freedom and couldn't handle it
Barely over a hundred. Most were British. There were more Canadians than US passengers

If we've learned anything, it's that atomic weapons are awesome cause it led to Godzilla movies. The good ones at least.
pearl harbor is great because everyone lost
america gets a good punch in the face and falls back on "but they didn't get the carriers!" cope, japan randomly pisses off a superpower and ensures its own destruction.

Aircraft carriers were the target
Also aircraft carriers are fucking badass and the linchpin of a good armada
They also missed the oil reserves, which would've been the actual lynch pin in stopping our navy but the counter attack was able to stop the wave that was going to target them
How embarrassing...
my recollection is that battleships were prioritized over carriers, both by japanese planes and by US military doctrines at the time.
it just turned out pretty quickly that carriers are way better than battleships.
though not hitting the harbor (and fuel, equipment, etc.) itself was probably their biggest mistake. iirc it was their third priority target (since they expected hitting the ships alone would make the US back off.), but later on their commander recognized it was probably the most valuable thing there since the US could just sail more ships over from the mainland with the harbor still in operation
user, I think you need to see this.
Awww that's my first "shut it down"
Yeah it's certainly one of those moments with hindsight that probably had him ripshit at midway
We take for granted the supremacy our carriers give us now, but back then, they were still largely untested. Even the Japanese expected that they'd be requiring their battleships more than they would their own carriers. See the ludicrous overtuning of the Yamato for examples on that design philosophy. But ignoring the carriers (which realistically they couldn't reach because they were out at the time of the attack) and not hitting the oil depots were based on the mindset that the Japanese and the rest of the world had about the US. The belief was that such a bold strike would keep America, which had up to that point maintained neutrality, cowed. Yes, they did indeed goof on that assumption, but it wasn't illogical for the Japanese tacticians at the time.
Both the US Navy and the Imperial Navy were built around carrier groups.
NOOOO YOU CAN'T BE PROUD OF DEFENDING YOURSELF WHAT ABOTU THE POOR ANIME PEOPLE YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST LET THEM INVADE YOU FUCKING EVIL AMERICANS
We should totally give Korea back to the Japanese in one piece.
They really can't handle themselves
