Barley anything changed, the only differences were a larger environment for the characters and a new intro.
It was like that short lived Beavis and Butthead revival where the setting never really changed and the characters pretty much stayed in the 90s.

I didn't think the show had that big of a quality drop, it felt the same to me aside from moving to high definition.

I can only point at certain episodes and say they weren't as good, I don't think there was a point at which ATHF went down in quality in a consistent way.

Aside from the complete lack of recurring villains like the Mooninites, Plutonians, and Christmas Robot, it was fine I guess. Show started dropping off anyways post-Season 3

If they're bringing back Harvey birdman and 12 oz mouse it's a pretty good bet some sort of revival would happen. Aqua Teen is still posted on their social media's several times.

you know i was ready to come in here and say something like, the quality kinda dropped off mid season 5-7, since i thought there were more hit or miss type episodes in those runs but i looked back over the list and really, each of those seasons still have pretty strong episodes that I enjoyed. Not as memorable as seasons 1-4, we'll say, but still great. Later seasons surprisingly are pretty great too.

Based on the DVDs, the show started to dip in quality at Volume 4 and didn't recover the magic until the title changes.

still, i'm of the opinion that the show peaked in seasons 2-4

Season 4 was already reaching the point where the show became darker in tone. But even then, every season of the show has at least a few episodes I enjoy.

Once the series starts to change its name every season it goes downhill dramatically. Though there are still some good ones like Zucotti Manicoti.
