Give me your genuine thoughts on Danny Phantom
Give me your genuine thoughts on Danny Phantom
Go back Butch
Sam and Tucker were a waste of space and terrible characters
Danny should have kept dating Valerie
Dash was definitely closeted
The fandom is weird because they either ship Danny with Vlad, or Ghost Danny with human Danny
Fun show that could have been even better, squandered potential but not really to the point that it's frustrating and had some moments that genuinely lived up to its potential, at least until the very end where they dropped the ball.
It’s to kill for.
It had a great premise and cool ideas, but bad execution.
Poor character development, missed oportunities and a annoying tendency to use FOP jokes that didn't fit the tone of the show.
It is Wasted Potential: The Animated Series
The character concept is cool, literally everything else is dogshit.
I don't know how people enjoyed this fucking series, even when it was airing, it was one of those shows I'd sit through as a kid if literally nothing else was on.
It's okay, but Alex Mack was better.
You are legitimately retarded. I hope you don't spread your genes.
we are on Yas Forums none of us will have children
I'm sure a lot of people here could donate their sperm.
Desiree was literally the only thing I remember about it
Probably the coolest thing hartman has ever done where the comedy isnt the main point of the show.
Great potential, started out pretty well, but rotted in later seasons. Valerie and Danny should have been the end pairing.
It's an obnoxious show that people give way too much credit.
checked
I didn't like it as a kid, I tried to watch a couple episodes again recently because I was on a Nickelodeon kick while I was stuck inside and it's still not good.
It's not horrible, just isn't good or particularly memorable.
Valerie was better than Sam, that's just a fact
I can't look at Valerie anymore without thinking about how the original suit design more closely fits Paulina.
I changed the channel when it was on. The colours were so flat and dead it make me want to cry when I was a kid. I also did not like the dub voices, the villains were extremely lame and the designs were appalling. Fuck Butch and his boring, lifeless, soul drenching cardboard cutouts he has the audacity to call cartoons.
Would've been a better tweest desu
I would think that a concept revolving around ghosts would lend itself to some darker content than what we got. Butch being a born-again Christian or whatever he is really narrowed the potential the idea had.
The show had a shift of tone on the nature of the ghosts as it went on, going from being spirits of the dead like Desiree or Pointdexter at the beginning to interdimensional aliens like Vortex or the ice yeti dude at the end.
And Butch later confimed that ghosts in DP where in fact "monsters from another dimension" something that the fans themselves hate.
There was apparently some kind of extreme division in the writing department between people that wanted it to be more serious and people that wanted it to be FOP-esque, with the more comedy-oriented side ultimately winning out. The show early on had some pretty heavy tonal whiplash that ended up settling on overwhelmingly comedic in the final season.
one of my favorite cartoons growing up. ive rewatched it and i still have a soft spot for it.
Mediocre idea and horrible execution. The writer is too focused with cartoon tropes rather than writing consistent characters. One of the most annoying running gags is the bumbling dad thing with the show constantly calling him an idiot for not thinking his son is a ghost. Why would anyone think a living person is a ghost? It is worse when Evil Danny insults the dad by saying the connection is obvious because Fenton sounds like Phantom despite it being their surname. Also, the ghost boy is referred to as Inviso-Bill in the general public.
They dropped the "dead people" thing around the time Vlad was introduced.
>You odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness
Was a pretty interesting premise, pretty original super power overall, enjoyed it well enough, had a chunk of missed potential though.
I honestly hated Sam because of the "MMO" episode. I would probably would have made her into some lore dump character and make her unaware of Danny's powers. Danny and Tucker go to her house and indirectly ask about the latest ghost.
Someone please post some thick maddies, that's all I've got to say about this show
And notice how shortly after he came in, ghosts were never given any explicit pre-death backstories anymore.
I liked it.
t was cool at first, but after Ultimate Enemy they focused way too much on comedy and teasing storylines that went nowhere.
