I just now finished it. What was the reaction like for the finale on Yas Forums? And Jasper being shattered and swearing herself to Steven?

It was interesting because the board and individual threads were bracing for the entire board to be swarmed by almost 100% SU threads... and it didn't quite happen. It was decently chill
Yeah there still was a shit ton of SU threads but it was easily manageable for the other Yas Forums threads
It was fun. Jasper and Pink Steven anime fighting was epic and I cried during the final two episodes. So overall based. Not perfect but I liked it
>What was the reaction like
Lots of hype and Jasperfags running wild.
Too bad all this build up didn´t pay in the end.
I don't remember the consensus, but to me this kind of felt like the origins for a supervillain. He's the human "fusion" of one of the 4 strongest singular gems, and everyone is apparently duty bound to grant him hugs and kisses whenever he goes ballistic from the weight of his own ego. Steven shouldn't have just left Beach City, he should've left Earth and possibly the galaxy in his attempt at a fresh start.
I’m just glad Connverse finally ended
Come on Becky stop lying to us we all know it's you
people thought the finale was kinda dumb. Steven's underlying problems were never addressed, they just let him know he was loved and supported... which he knew already? But somehow it worked.
jasper's episode was great, but she was done dirty by not getting to feature in the finale at all and not resolving her issues in any way
>another SU thread
you’re never going to get your own board like the pony show so just please fuck off
It’s true. I don’t know why so many people are afraid to let Steven begin a new relationship and insist he stays with someone who simply has commitment issues
>got hype all season for Kaiju Stevenzilla
>it does literally nothing before getting chained to the ocean and being defeated by hugs
at least it traumatized White Diamond before it lost.
You don't actually have to go in every thread you see
Yeah sure Rebecca your not fooling anyone now tell us who made the diamonds
That rollercoaster of conniefags thinking they made up then he leaves forever
Was hilarious
They CAN however get sent to /trash/ then banned from /trash/ like homestuck

Sugar tell us who the diamonds? God damnit stop playing these games with us
Decent finale but as per usual for SU twenty minutes would've suited it better.
The underlying trauma was literally addressed in an episode prior to the finale
>trauma was addressed
>Steven still turns into a monster
>trauma is addressed again
>Steven becomes human again
11/10 writing
So...they are neve going to adress on how Lars is a teenager forever now?
I'm mad that they never really explained Pink Diamond's violent powers that they alluded to and how she cracked volleyball's eye. So much fucking lore left unexplained, Steven Universe was the biggest blue ball I've ever experienced. And I know Sugar was trying to be deep or whatever by exploring Steven's PTSD, but God Damn it just retroactively made the whole show so fucking depressing. I know it isn't realistic, but I actually liked an optimistic and idealistic show, but Future took a giant shit all over that, it was worse than Change Your Mind.
It feels like Sugar is trying to ape Hideaki Anno who claims that he didn't even made most of the worldbuilding in the series and his focus was on the characters personal arcs and meanings like puberty and pressure from job and family. The difference is that Neon Genesis Evangelion actually had people developing the worldbuilding for him, we know how angels and the ancient weapons were created, why Adam and Lilith exist, how Evas work etc.
and they all cried
>Hideaki Anno who claims that he didn't even made most of the worldbuilding
He’s a liar then, the original pitch from 1993 is available for anybody’s viewing and it seems most of the setting stuff was already developed by then. I mean sure, the worlbuilding might have been done by some body else, but Anno always had the setting available for reference.
What a man, what a legend!
Lots of hype for pomp steven and lots of anti-hype when everything was fixed with hugging and crying.
I liked the final episode in it's broader strokes, it felt like a genuine and heartfelt cap off to the series
I liked it, yeah. But WHAT WAS IN THE PINK CHEST INSIDE LION? I waited two entire separate SHOWS to find out.
>What was the reaction like for the finale on Yas Forums?
Based.
Most of the response was an argument on how bad of a message the show was sending, since Steven spiraled out of control due to the people around him all being coddling idiots. He never resolved his issues so much as there was a vague promise to "be there for him," which magically fixed all his problems. Which were rather vast. And so complicated that he'd need years of therapy to deal with it. Also the strangeness of him taking his dad's advice to just wander around with no goal, even though he'd already rejected it because of Steven's distaste for a lack of grounding and responsibility.
So, kind of the same deal as most SU events. A lot of obvious criticism followed by frothing SU fans screeching that everyone is wrong because of some small line of dialogue somewhere.
It was great. Fragments arguably the BEST episode of Future and the Jasper episode we've all waited on, also perfect Finale set up which all got ruined with a hug and stupid HW visit to further ruin the Diamonds and massively ruin Spinel
How long until we get the full version of Mr. Universe?
What an awful episode
>Son, I know you have PTSD and constantly feel like dying but I experience way worse because I had a curfew and had to eat meatloaf.
