And give it to who exactly? The problem with Kingdom Hearts as a franchise is double sided. Without Nomura you have nothing. With Nomura you have something, shit.

The other problem is that corporate Square Enix thinks that Kingdom Hearts is going to die without Nomura so they leave him to do whatever he likes no matter how terrible.

And even if you were to reboot the series the retarded shit for brains fanboys? They wouldn't buy a reboot because "Muh Roxas Sora clone!" or "Muh Aqua waifu!" "Oh no we lost Xion!" So many fucking shit characters that the customers cannot do without. Kingdom Hearts is fucked and the fanboys get what they fucking deserve.

And this is coming from a former fan, Kingdom Hearts IS shit. It's even easier to say this thanks to Disney running out of decent films and Disney being a shitty corporation. Honestly regret ever liking this mountain of shit.

Nomura was given full reign with KH1. For KH2 Nomura was instructed by Square Enix to make the plot more complictated and RPG like.

Nomura has also stated that initially Disney gave him almost total freedom with Disney characters but by KH 3D, there were lots of controls over what he could and couldn't put in and how he treated characters. It's a bunch more apparent in KH3 where the amount of freedom he got with the setting seemed dependent on what team he worked with. Hence Toy Story got a great setting and a decent self contained original story and Monsters Inc world basically was a sequel but Frozen was just "Sora stands awkwardly in the background whilst the film happens"

He's said he wanted to draw a line under the Xehanort saga with KH3 and to start fresh (still with Sora). It looks like the new saga will be about the foretellers, possibly starting with Nomura making a spin off game based off of the original work he did on FFXIII VS / FFXV . He still seems pretty bitter about FFXV

I don't regret it, I just choose to ignore everything that came out after 2.

DESU, the first Kingdom Hearts has a lot of charm that got lost when they kept making the story so convoluted. It was essentially it's own Disney film, in a way, where they would have the fakeout deaths and everything.
