The movie also incorporates a dead-simple revenge tale (girl's family is murdered; girl dedicates her life to revenge) and a dead-simple reluctant hero tale (hero watched her mother suffer for using her powers, vows not to use her powers; hero is attacked by bad guys, must use her power to survive)

It's a nice movie, but unique it's not, not in premise and not in execution.

I know it's contrary to what the media says nowadays, but sex sells, and harley as a character was partly built on that premise, so if you remove that aspect of her don't be surprised when no one gives a fuck about her.

Canary and Huntress both deserved more screentime. Huntress should have been the protagonist, actually. She had the most personal stakes in the conflict.

I hated it because it completely ruined Cassandra Cain, Harley Quinn is kind of a flat out obnoxious character, and in my eyes the most heinous crime, that fucking Bronx accent. If you live in the Rhode Island or Massachusetts area you are bombarded by this car add with this woman with that accent screeching in your ear almost every commercial break, and it's fucking obnoxious as hell.
