Considering Wally is still more popular than Barrry among comic fans, why doesn't DC just have both Wally and Barry as the stars of the comic? Have it be a buddy cop thing.

Because DC would be very embarrassed if Wally overshadowed Barry in his own comic or if Wally outsold Barry.

Because Didio wanted to get rid of Wally for a while and Geoff Johns is a moron that can't hype a character without shitting on others. Flash Rebirth had a perfect moment with Jay saying "Barry Allen made me the flash", it was a dumb way to hype a character, but it was DC attitude in a nutshell.

That's like asking why Bruce and Dick weren't co-Batmen for longer. They work together for a brief bit but having two characters with the same name, similar costumes, and slightly varied versions of the same power isn't compelling. The Flashes have always worked as a mentor and protege role with both being distinctly different from each other.

Certain parts of the comic fanbase had issues with Sam and Rich teaming up because Sam is Hispanic and they saw him as a threat/token who unfairly replaced Rich.

Dick didn't. His sales were extremely strong relative to any other title during his whole run.
It's that the whole market tanked. From 2009 to 2010, the market went from having 3, sometimes 4 100k plus titles- often over 150k- to having one or none.
Batman and Robin was the bestselling monthly at dc during that time overall, although Blackest Night was doing work for Green Lantern during some of it.

That would highlight just how uninteresting Barry is. And it would have made Dan Didio very unhappy. He hated that fans didn't love Barry more than Wally. For Dan Didio, Wally is what Tim Drake is to crusty batfags.

Because DC doesn’t trust it’s readers to be smart enough to not be confused. If they’re not reading Batman and instead reading GoesFastMan they must be pretty dumb

I think they want Barry to be the only Flash that gets used for adaptations, and having there be multiple Flashes would muddle that.
