>I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing. So you had to struggle and connive and claw your way to power. But true power...the divine right to rule...is something you're born with. The fact is, they don't know which one of us is going to be sitting on that throne and which one is going to be bowing down. But I know. And you know. ...Well?
They had to be fucking self aware with the heavy femdom undertones this scene has.
I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing...

As low as Azula is in Sozin's Comet, she's equally high in this finale. Literally everything she does works and works perfectly. It's like she's rolling natural 20s from the minute she sets foot in Ba Sing Se.
Yes, because a 16 year old girl can totally out gambit a guy with literal decades of experience in the matter.
This is kinky as fuck, I'd grovel and lick her fucking feet like the subterranean dai li piece of shit that i am.
>the divine right to rule
>divine
Wait are there gods in Avatar? I thought it was just spirits and the spirit realm.
as a general rule in history kings got their "right to rule" from "god." This is just appropriating that concept even if it doesn't deeply examine how royalty in avatar got to be in those positions
>as a general rule in history kings got their "right to rule" from "god."
Yes I know what divine right means, I'm just asking why Azula is saying that if there isn't a divine.
Hell, not even a Heavenly Court like the Chinese or something.
Think of the spirits as deities. Some are stronger, some are weaker, none of them are responsible for the creation of the world but all of them have a function in its operation. I mean it's fair to class the Moon and Ocean Spirits as gods, right? They're up there in power.
Her biggest mistake was not offing zuko in the book 2 finale but she couldnt because Nickolodeon. If it wasnt for zuko, the avatar gang would be having literal beach parties during sozins comet while the water tribe and earth kingdom people were literally going extinct.
Seriously, How come this worked so well without going into YASSSS QUEEN territory like any other show? what should a show like Game of Thrones have done differently?
Well first off the show made you literally scared of her every time she was on screen by just how OP she was. (A good kind of OP, she was a great villain because of this).
And second, it may seem unrelated at first, but I think zuko had a lot to do with these kinds of scenes being more impactful in the way you say. Book 2 was set up as zukos redemption arc from the first episode of the season. Hes the one character that everybody had gravitated to at this point, and things were all about to turn around for him. Then boom. Azula comes in out of nowhere and fucks everything up and the whole time during this scene you're just like "fuck why is she here how the fuck did this happen fuck this situation dude"
after this stunt nobody would disagree with her. this was the most impressive single achievement of any individual character throughout the series
Nigger, they trained real life monarchs to speak several fucking languages, philosophy from all the great thinkers both past and present, mathematics, sciences, poetry, etc.
Also you forget that Azula is a fucking prodigy.
If Azula weren't mean, would she have literally any flaws at all?
Because it came before that culture. If the show had come out at the height of that meme's popularity, this scene would have been screencapped and retweeted with the caption as YASSSS QUEEN SLAYYY!
Avatar came out just as the wild west of the internet was beginning to die, the seventh generation of consoles was beginning and before the 2008 economic crisis. It's timing was perfect for being prime nostalgia bait.
Yeh but long feng wasnt forced to side with azula, or entrust her with his men and he shouldnt have since he is supposedly a smart guy
It just seem in character for her.
Azula's a sweetheart though. But only for Chad (Chan).
she spilled a shitload of spaghetti talking to chad and can’t land a man to save her life.
chen wasn't man enough to handle her. Faggot ran after just a brief vision of the future
It was genuinely cute that someone like her was attracted to a normal person.
Because the show doesn't try to act like she's praiseworthy simply for being a woman.
Azula did nothing wrong though.
Shes an amazing flirter. If a girl said she wanted to dominate the earth with me my peepee would explode
I agree with you but I like to think this would still be a good scene even divorced from the time it was made.
No. This is wrong. If avatar came out today (and it never would, because this is a different time) it wouldn't be considered one of those girl power moments because its not written that way. in contrast every time danaerys or sandra did some contrived shit in game of thrones you could tell the writers were doing it because they wants to show a stronk girl looking smug. avatar on the other hand makes no big deal at all about the fact that azula has a pussy, and she's shown actually being competent unlike the other two examples.
What was Long Feng's end goal anyway? The war was real, and the Earth Kingdom was losing. The Fire Nation breached the walls twice and that was without using their new war balloons. Eventually they were going to invade and then what, Long Feng makes a deal?
There was no contest because Azula just cut out a pointless middleman.
i want to self insert as chan and take advantage of azula at a party
Being as pure as the driven snow is not a flaw.
Tell that to Yas Forums
Azula said it herself. Dude came from nothing. I always assumed long feng was one of those dudes that just wanted to rule over something to compensate for something, regardless if it's a city that thrives on lies and deceit. The real question I've always had is what the fuck were the dai li's motives? I know they were basically independent contractors that held no loyalty to one party, but what is the purpose of their group to begin with? Maybe it was explained but I dont remember
