How bad are they gonna fuck up the second season...?

Given how bad Netflix has gotten lately with their progressivism and agenda pushing, and the fact that the first season was looked poorly upon by multiple "journalists" for being immature, having problematic depictions of women, with pointless violence and fan service tailored for a bunch of ADD-addled video game addicts.

Then there's the new wild card, the new supervising director, Jennifer Yuh. She started with stuff like Spicy City, Spawn, and Dark City, but then moved on to pump out those mindless Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda movies.

I'm having a hard time seeing a whole lot of light through the clouds for what was supposed to be the spiritual successor to the Heavy Metal franchise.

The first season was a crapshoot, the second season will be a crapshoot too.

Hopefully we get more of that sexy monster from Sonnie's Edge but if we get more funny robots instead that's fine too.

I just hope the second season has a better variety of animation styles. Too many of the shorts were CG, and on top of that too many of them were that videogame cutscene CG.

You're so wrapped up in your own political obsession that you're projecting it on to a season of a show that doesn't exist yet.
What a waste of a thread

i mean i thought it was preetty cheesy, but maybe the source material was also like that.
the animation was awesome tho.
and nigga netflix has been progresive since they started, identity politics alone isnt enough to make something bad unless you are seething at that shit already. Now that doesn´t mean its gonna be good. The first season was already preety "woke" with the one with the lesbian puppet monster thing and the chinese spirits story. Now id suck if they only did stories with these messages but i really doubt they wont deliver attleast some great animation and maybe a couple of good stoires.

Which style/short was your favorite? My personal favorite was the Zima Blue short, I enjoyed the story and the art style.

that one was great
the vampire one was cool because it kinda reminded me of venture bros/ hanah barbera.
the cg ones i enjoyed but id ratther have more 2d animation, personal preference.

also, should they make any short that follows up on the last season or should it all be new shorts?

LD&R could unironically use less poinless violence and sex though. What's the point of adapting cool sci-fi stories if you are going to throw the plot away anyway in favor of awkward cgi porn?

There's not really anything to 'fuck up'.
Some of it you'll like, some of it you won't.
Just like the previous season.

That's a lot of buzzwords

The first season was fucking garbage outside of The Witness (just because of the incredible cgi), Suits, and Sucker of Souls

Good Hunting was one of the worst animated shorts I've seen outside student films

This. Zima Blue was the only one I felt invested it, given how unique it was. The fact that it was a short story, self contained and that looped (start small, go galactic, god back to a small setting) made it very strong

1. Stop showing dicks in every single episode
2. Please don't have the black/gay character be a smarmy bitch all the time
3. Can we get an actual lesson or moral please. The ending of Zima Blue was the biggest dissapointment.

I enjoyed mech farmers for what it was.
The robot tourists one was ok.
The one where a woman witnesses a crime had nice animation even if the story was a bit wonky.
The ones that had 2D animation were ok. I still have to watch some, I think I dropped it after one of a spider monster in space.

probably have less to do with the words pitch than the first one, if that's even possible for some studios

The robots touring the wasteland was my fav.

I also really liked the steampunk China episode but got kinda freaked out about the whole sex-bot transformation.

I don't care how many dicks they will show as long as the shorts are as stlysh as The Witness and not some video game cutscenes

>can we get an actual lesson or morale please
no
why does every story need a lesson
go to church

now say it in your own words and not buzzwords lingo.

Love Death and Robots was already SJW, what the fuck are you talking about

in what way it was sjw

good hunting
i wish sexbots were real
you didnt get even a slight sjw tone from the first one?

Well there was the short about a woman monster killing a dude, or the one with the steampunk chinese yokai prostitute that got mutilated by English colonisers and got reformed into an attack bot to get revenge.
Not saying they're bad, just that it fits Yas Forums's standards of "SJW" stuff. If there's women in it, or involved with it, it's bad.

>sexy monster from Sonnie's Edge
very based user

oh i see, revenge exploitation movies are sjw now, i get it. Maybe they needed more boob and vagina shots, to make it even more sjw

If it's got a woman, it's SJW. If it's got a white man doing something other than being the protagonist and acting 100% heroic and beyond reproach, it's white genocide.

You don't get it. The heros / main characters are diverse through the episodes. But the heros who are black or asian are usually "pure", have no negative character traits, and are fighting against oppression.

The villains are either evil white people or actual monsters. That is fucked up.

sonnie fought a literal walking caricature of toxic masculinity

What negative traits does the white mech farmer? Or his friend, who SACRIFICES HIMSELF to save everyone?
It's a simple case of hating anything that isn't white, my good man.

Man the animations is beautiful but fuck I hate the "technology and magic fuck with each other" trope

Main character from vagina spider episode was nice. Action dude from 2d dracula episode was cool and competent, too
