So how many years after the collapse of the current comic book industry will it take for everything to return to normal and people to not go "SJW!" or "Comic gater!" when a creator uses a fat or sexy or manish or lesbian woman in his superhero team?
So how many years after the collapse of the current comic book industry will it take for everything to return to normal...
You know it’s never that simple OP. Those traits don’t inherently make a character SJW; but the writer acting like it’s a substitute for actual character traits is.
How about: the people who actually read comics don't want that shit, stop trying to force it and sell it to the handful of fat tumblroids who do (except they don't actually buy comics anyway lol).
Moving the goal post but she's cute in the covers. Too bad the books are 100% trash
ngl she cute
She was made explicitly to be a fat body image character. Intent is always the problem. Comics are read (reliably, read: weekly) by a certain group. Some books like this can find a monthly/quarterly audience but publishing companies ignoring their own market research in regard to monthly buyers is the reason we're in this environment (not COVID apply this to three months ago and whenever this hoax ends).
Identity politik customers aren't reliable. To call them readers/customers from a business stand point was retarded. Gatekeeping shouldn't be done by people it should be the reality of tight publishing budgets.
These terrible books take the place of ones with less odds stacked against them. It's really the book agents that publishers are forced to capitulate to, though. They don't want to push only garbage but the agents tell them that the big box stores want more diverse books and so they hire the fate brown xir the agent is pushing.
Well you say that but then the literal next reply () is someone that seems to assume it's SJW shit for "fat tumblroids".
>calling COVID a hoax
doesnt make ur other statements look all that gr8 either my dude imma be honest
>SJW shit for "fat tumblroids"
You know that's not that far-fetched when the character herself is canonically a tumblroid. That said, they also made her die from a heart attack in her sleep barely into her 40s. So, you know.
Why does that second pic piss me off so much?
Kill yourself faggot, it stuns me how you lexapro addeled faggots who never leave your house think you decide what's best for the world.
This shit kills people in old folks homes and morbidly obese people already on ventilators.
Who gives a shit. This was a niche book from the 8th biggest publisher and years later you're still memeing it.
Blessed are the trolls, for they will never run out of material to troll about.
OK but can you say that again without the schizophrenic breakdown halfway through?
>the writer acting like it’s a substitute for actual character traits is.
You would think that would be insulting to the people being represented. There's gotta be more to their identity than "I'm fat" or "I'm a lesbian"
I'm not talking about this character though, she's not manish or sexy.
>or "I'm a lesbian"
Unfortunately that describes a lot of lesbians or really most people in the LGBT+ community. I’m always quite shocked when I meet one who doesn’t want to lead the conversation with how it’s the sole factor to their personality.
>make a fat superhero
>make her fly and essentially “weightless”
I know it’s a comic but I’m calling bullshit as that’s totally unbelievable
The writers litwrally shilled for Hillary with her. So I guess the answer is when the hired writers across the media get axed and replaced with apolitical ones. Preferably ones who can write this time.
>unbelievable
That isn't the argument you want to make when we're discussing complete fiction. You should be focusing more on how much of a fat chick power fantasy she is.
>American comics
>Ever becoming mainstream
Good one.
maybe a youtube channel that reviews 80's / 90's comics and promotes them so people can buy older issues (not reprints or collections). that way comic stores only sell old issues to help out. also comic stores advertising no sjw/political heavy handed comics. maybe indie/kickstarter/convention comics with actual great art/sexy/etc. also non sjw/lgtbqxyz themes shit.
>humans flying is fine, staple of superhero comics
>but someone fat flying? bullshit!
Just stop.
wasn't the writer a cutie?
Not him but a flying fat person looks like a blimp.
Sounds like superhero comedy.
>number of deaths caused by pneumonia and the flu conveniently drop to zero during the covid pandemic
>huge portions of asymptomatic individuals are going uncounted.
Not a hoax but its deadliness is highly overstated. The reaction to it was easily not worth the few people saved when liberties were removed and millions left unemployed.
>>Ever becoming mainstream again
original >
back when thicc was considered fat.
Well her codename in the old series was Zeppelin so the writers are way ahead of you.
because that was the dumpy girl in the highschool female group. that was "fat" in the 90s and its insane how nufaith isn't shamed hard.
like shit dude, she is like 140-150 in ye olden times, when most heroines were like 105 or so? yeah, fat, but fucking 2020? its a empowering thing to be fucking 300lbs as a woman, when most heroines are about 130~ tops with muscle.
this
i think once we start letting people back into the mix, it will be around, but not super deadly killing everyone BS that people are making it out to be.
the places that will be the WORST will be fucking cities. i keep hearing about all the people dying and trucks filled with stacked bodies, but really, we were NEVER prepared for something like this, ever. people fucking complaining about preparedness, now imagine this virus was ACTUALLY deadly with people dying and just lying in the fucking streets!
