I had the privilige of discussing this with Dave Gibbons in person, he was signing my copy and there was no-one else there so got to sit down and chat with him about this story for a good ten minutes. He said he was heavily influenced by Wayne Boring's art, which makes sense as this sort of follows up from Superman's Return to Krypton (141) which I may storytime later if the thread is still up
Love Superman going ape shit here. And Krypton. And everything else in this issue. It's pretty much perfect and I've talked about it a lot hence why not much commentary from me.
Thanks OP this is one of my favorite comics, and one of the books that really got me into superman. Do you have any recommendations of older runs? I have Tomasais entire run in deluxe form and the standards of red son for all seasons and all star
My pleasure user, define older run? It's not older but Grant Morrisons action comics is my favourite Superman story of all time. Most Superman stuff from the Bronze age is generally very good, John Byrnes run for the 1986 reboot was good as well. I know a lot of stand out issues or arcs if you want some of those, just give me an era!
