What's Yas Forums's thoughts on Spider Gwen?

I think Ghost Spider is a poorly thought out elseworlds character created to take advantage of the "Gwen fad" Emma Stone started in The Amazing Spider-Man movies. Her costume is alright, but that's about it. Had she stayed in her own universe, and better yet, had more interesting adventures, she would have been fine. But now that she's taking college classes in 616, she's yet ANOTHER redundant Spider-Woman while also overshadowing the memory of 616 Gwen Stacy. Why can't she do weird shit in her universe, and have a writer take advantage of fun spins on old Spidey mythos? Lizard Peter Parker was a fun idea! Do more of that stuff! Like how about Mac Gargan being the owner of The Daily Bugle? Electro as the new Kingpin?

Ghost Spider Gwen Stacy is just a mishmash of recycled ideas. Like did you know her costume is a symbiote? I sure as hell didn't remember that until recently

take away the fact that she's gwen, the sexy blonde who peter once loved. Replace her with any other female character ,but keep the name if you want. Take away the costume. Heck, you can even keep that interracial bullshit with miles. And I bet my life that no single fag will care about her. She's just that forgettable.user.

She kinda reminds me of a CGI Don Bluth design.

I'm not a fan of the haircut, gap tooth, and lack of a headband, and I prefer the non-ballet flat look, but not incredibly. Otherwise, she was a good character in Spider-Verse, and she's one of my favorite characters overall. I wouldn't have spent a fucking fortune on this XM statue (and several other statues) if she wasn't.

I kinda regret having so many given that I'm not cooming to her. I just got out of hand and like the design a lot.

because this Peter never met Gwen Stacy. the new Spider Gwen is not defined by Peter's relationship with her. she's her own woman.

She's proof that you can make a character popular with nothing but a good design.

I liked her fine in Spider-Verse and I can't really comment on how well she's written in the comics, but let's be real. Ignoring Spider-Verse, 90% of the people who like Spider-Gwen just like her costume (myself included).

even though Gwen's backstory means that it'd make more sense for her to have more emotional connection to any Peter, I still like the Gwen x Miles ship. Mostly, I like it cause it kills the possibility of a Miles x Penny ship, keeping things safe for Penny x Noir, which the only ship I actually care about.
