That's being honest. He was treated badly by Martin Goodman. The copyright renewal was coming up on the Human Torch, FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL brought the Torch back to fight Johnny Storm, then killed him at the end. Enough for Marvel to claim ownership of the character before Burgos did. I don't think he got any compensation at all. Goodman was not the most generous person you ever met.
