I don't want to be an annoying fence-sitter, but both sides of the do/don't put sex appeal in cartoons are honestly annoying. I think it's fine to have it in comedy cartoons like Animaniacs were it works quite well, but I'm just sick of the arguing.

Modern animation doesn't omit recognizable breasts for basic geometry chests designs because they are targeting and removing sex appeal. They turn every design into an amorphous blog of basic shakes with only the barest relationship with the human form because they are shitty, lazy artists.

Modern western animators don't know how to draw. They have never devoted time to studying anatomy and how to draw it or human movement. Even something as simple as breasts creates differences in shading and motion that require you to know, like, PERSPECTIVE and shit. And ain't nobody has time for that, just draw a rectangle for their torso and call it a day, that way if it looks weird you can always just say "says the style" instead of having to keep any kind of artistic consistency.

The more grotesquely inhuman you make your cast look, the less effort you have to put into animating them. Don't blame on culture war bullshit what is easily explained by simple ineptitude and laziness.
