Mark my words this show is gonna become the next SU
Owl house
Eh maybe but it's gonna need some more time it's hard to tell what will become of it just based on 11 episodes
I like the main characters and the setting seems like it has a lot of potential, but the story seems wonky as so with its pacing and Gus and Willoe are pretty boring at this moment. Say what you will about SU, which is a lot, but at least most of her characters were likable.
Owl House is really good, the problem is that it's outshone by literally all of its competitors.
Is "the next SU" going to become "the next MLP"?
No thanks I’d rather not be compared to them
I said it’s gonna be like SU cause of what you said it’s got potential but definitely could be better and is squandering it
needs more shipping
>Gets massively shilled by Disney, millions poured into advertising, get Alex Hirsch involved
>Even the people in threads say it sucks
It's not happening
Nah if anything it will end up in of those Yas Forums threads in the future where people ask, “Hey, you guys remember that one show from the 20s?”
For all the shit SU gets it will remembered fondly, zoomers will get nostalgic about it, like they do now with AT
God, /ll/ is seriously underrated.
Daily reminder that Eda is a terrible teacher.
Well, it DOES make sense for her character.
what's the Regular Show equivalent then?
>Daily reminder that Eda is a terrible teacher.
Sure, but she is charming.
People were hyped at the idea of Rebecca Sugar getting a series back when she was writing episodes for Adventure Time.
Contrast this to Dana Terrace where the instant her name was recognized on this board, it's been nothing but a shitshow every time someone brings her up. The only reason Owl House threads even hit bump limits is because:
>Cunny posters
>GILF posters
>FMAfaggots
>"Amity is the best girl"
And that's it.
Lol this, she passed off her responsibilities like 8 episodes in to a school she hated to teach Luz.
It's such an odd shift considering episodes prior it was being teased she would get taught by her.
Is it going to be that weird mix of 'legal' training and 'illegal' training?
Alex Hirsch is one of the biggest problems in it.
Speaking of Cunny, how tight is luz?
>Owl House becomes just as popular as Steven Universe
would be nice desu
that being said, I'm doubtful that Owl House can reach the scope and magnitude of SU in terms of thematic execution and worldbuilding. Steven was thrown into a galactic war slatemate that doubled as his coming-of-age story while Luz's role as Eda's apprentice is at worst inconsequential and at best a wild card in the plot of Eda being hunted for the emperor of the Boiling Isles.
I do agree that if SU needs a spiritual successor it should be Owl House.
>>GILF posters
problem?
There's a thread up right now talking about how boring the show is. And the season is halfway over.
"Next SU" my ass.
shitty thread full of nitpicking and brainlet takes
>why can't Luz just take a picture of every magic circle to learn super fast
because Luz finding the glyphs on her own is more fun and narratively fulfilling.
>"They could push Luz and Eda's relationship better so it feels earned instead of they like each other just because."
>GOD WHAT A BRAINLET TAKE AND USELESS NITPICK!!!
Sorry people don't like your boring show, bud.
>more fun and narratively fulfilling.
The glyph literally fell into her hands, there was nothing fulfilling about that.
Part of Eda's training is mainly just being there as support while Luz tries to figure it out herself. Pretty much how Eda got to where she was. Obviously Eda could be doing more but she believes the best way is to try and figure it out yourself. It nurtures creativity and resourcefulness out of diversity from her rebellious nature. Some witches are better suited with generalized text books methods while others thrive outside the box. Most of history was shaped by self taught mavericks.
>Eda and Luz immediately love each other
Eda forgot who Luz was in the second episode, their arc is about finding common ground as outcasts and that not everybody is an antagonist, exemplified by Luz befriending Amity and Bump letting Eda enroll Luz at Hexside. I shouldn't have to explain something this easy to you, user.
It's amazing all this bullshit you're saying that isn't in the actual show itself, rofl. Desperate to try and make people think the show is better than it is that you're going to deny an entire thread of valid criticisms under the grounds of, "C-CO IS STUPID".
>Part of Eda's training is mainly just being there as support while Luz tries to figure it out herself.
Luz and Eda literally seperate in 80% of episodes where Luz goes off to NOT learn about magic. What fucking show are you watching where Eda is a supportive mentor by Luz's side while Luz as a person learns and grows? I'd love to watch that show.
>What fucking show are you watching where Eda is a supportive mentor by Luz's side
Providing food, shelter, and protection for being a filthy human?
after Luz had spent the day decrying Eda's teaching method to instead steal Amity's wand and skip the training and angering a monster.
only when she was contemplating her mistakes she calmed down enough to remember Eda's training and learn about the isle's magic, eventually learning the ice spell.
all you understood from the episode is that a snowflake fell into her hands. fucking retard.
>Protection
Luz almost dies every other episode. The only thing Eda provides is food and shelter and nothing else. She's not a supportive mentor, she's not a tough "do-it-yourself" teacher. She's on-par with an abusive or neglective foster parent.
with every episode she's getting more fond of Luz, not every episode has to advance the plot of Luz learning magic, some have to build up the character's relationships so when the plot does advance, they treat each other as friends rather than acquaintances. that's how character writing and storytelling works m8
>Luz almost dies every other episode.
She is fine, what doesn't kill her only makes her stronger.
>The only thing Eda provides is food and shelter and nothing else.
The most important aspects of survival?
>She's not a supportive mentor, she's not a tough "do-it-yourself" teacher. She's on-par with an abusive or neglective foster parent.
She has literally kept her from doing stupid shit on her own for being a adventurous little kid. Are we watching the same series?
>The handful of OH fags desperate to try and convince people their show isn't boring in relatation of an entire thread confirming the show is boring
LMAO
Except Luz and Eda seemed to love each other by episode 3. So there goes that whole "gradual buildup" nonsense.
>She has literally kept her from doing stupid shit on her own for being a adventurous little kid.
Luz runs off constantly. Luz gets into danger constantly. Eda isn't even aware the majority of the time. At one point, Eda pushed Luz into a magic duel to spite her sister when Luz can't do magic.
>She's on-par with an abusive or neglective foster parent.
the same Eda that spent an entire day as Bump's slave just to enroll Luz at magic school because she wanted to make her happy?
Eda even had a plan for that duel. fuck off with your nitpicking.
