What does furlough mean?
Logan Flores
Fired but they'll rehire them later. Basically an excuse to not pay them but not lose them forever
Nathaniel Phillips
Also they still get health benefits, they aren't paid a proper salary
Josiah White
I still don't get why.
Can literally all their employees work from home?
Wyatt Kelly
Based. Fuck capeshit. Get dabbed on DCucks and Marvel SIMPS.

Just Yas Forumstards wanting Marvel and DC to die because they propagate the SJW agenda to cut all mens balls off or something.
Though there are probably some who think the big two are killing the comic industry, and hope with them gone more story driven stuff like manga will fill the void
Mason Rivera
Their blind devotion to keeping LCS alive will be their downfall, it has been foretold
Jose Martinez
Therein lies the rub. They all can work from home. But because retailers don't want comic publishers to continue titles digitally, there is nothing to work on.
Retailers would argue that the pencils down order is for the best, because they don't want to deal with a glut of titles after the shutdown is lifted. What they don't think about is how hard it is to restart production. Most artists and writers are freelance, they move around to different projects. They also can't work any faster, and this downtime cannot be recovered. This is going to delay products even longer, and retail will end up missing out on more sales.
Logan Martin
Image is doing much better than both the big two and it was not a secret they were struggling financially since...ever.
There were many questionable decisions such as placing Bendis at the helm of everything and then DC placing him at the helm of everything, again.
Connor Cox
They say furlough but most of them are not coming back after this crash. Marvel is going to be a totally different company this time next year. Now we wait to see if this is enough of a wake up call to get them back in the businesses of telling good stories.
Levi Garcia
they didn't start telling good stories after going bankrupt, what makes you think this will be any different?
Jayden Watson
Mostly I think they will change because they won't have the luxury to bullshit anymore. They are going to have to restructure almost everything, most of their books will end, and all of their fans will have already have gone several week/months without buying Marvel. If they come out doing the same shit they have been doing for the last few years Marvel will be dead before the end of the decade. I guess it depends on if they really give a shit or not.

Winning at... what exactly?
Kevin Gonzalez
Yas Forums's been saying this long before comicsgate was ever a blip in the radar. You never paid attention. The hope was based on the videogame crash of 1983 starting things fresh.

I never got this odd devotion to retailers that Marvel and DC have. No one gave a shit when Kindle and the Nook killed almost every book store chain, why care now. If they went almost fully digital other then trades and made it subscrition based, they could do so much more interesting things and peoples would have to worry as much about their favorite series because it didn't sell good before it was even able to set up a story.
I really hope LCS's die in this time and make room for actual growth
Aaron Gray
UH, BASED?
Caleb Robinson
wouldn't have to worry as much about early cancellations i mean

The death of stagnation
Colton Nelson
Yes, because nothing spells progress like the collapse of an entire industry. You guys are suicidally stupid if you're happy about any of this.
Luis Thompson
Comicsgate is a meme I'm talking about the reality of what is going on at Marvel. Nobody is going to come back to comics to buy the New Warriors and Children of the Atom and that is exactly the situation they are in now because everyone has moved on to other media in the absence of books. Marvel is in a terrible position and anyone looking at them can see it.
