Comic is practically dead and the porn is ugly. Imagine building up your fandom for ten years then pissing it all away and not being able to do anything with what you have left.

Not even the authors of webcomics give a shit about them.

I feel like they still exist cause of there characters, who give either tons of fanservice or does have waifu//husbando material. See TwoKinds.

Only if they're posted on twitter or someshit.

I remember when he started with the Super Effective comic and then for years panned it out for so long that he stopped caring. He never got out of the Cerulean cave if i recall. And there was like 20 fucking comics for that segment alone

I was honestly shocked to learn a month ago that Penny Arcade still exists and has been updating regularly all this time. I haven't heard anyone mention it or share a strip from it in over 10 years. What has it been doing all this time?

K6B is pretty based

>What has it been doing all this time?

Penny Arcade? I'm pretty sure they've spent the last 15 years learning how to progressively draw worse and worse.

Didn't he try to start two other comics and gave up after a few pages? I think he had another one that was about an MMO game or some crap.

Scot Ramsoomier? His deal was that he started spending most of his time going to conventions, selling VG Cats merch (his plushies were huge for a while). He got it into his mind that the comics were a waste of time when it was the merch that was making him bank.

...But eventually, the merch stopped selling because nobody knew wtf VG Cats was anymore and nobody cared. Because there hadn't been a new comic in 5 years and people moved on to other things. And by then, it was too late for him to reinvigorate his brand so he could get people interested in buying merch again.

I thought webcomics are booming? Webtoon's webcomics are even being adapted into anime. Tapas has gotten a webcomic adapated into a live-action show. As it is, webcomics are now more read and more popular than print comics.

This makes sense, never knew that

Axe Cop had a show several years ago. But more often than not the webcomic artist just gets hired to work on something else and that leads to their comic ending because of it.

yeah the guy who did magiswords ended his frog raccoon strawberry comic cause he got hired I believe

That last part was his fault. He fell for the wife and kids meme and claimed his kid took up too much of his time.

I think so. I believe the development of social media will actually slowly veer back into another golden age for webcomics, unironically.
I've thought about making a webcomic and asking my LCS to just give away hard copies lol

It looks pretty, but personally I'm tired of westerners adopting the metaphysics/mythology of eastern cultures and then doing their own boring, derivative takes on it. And then expecting me to care about another generic universal drama shitfling.

Where's the porn parody at

>can't work and take care of his kids at the same time
Wtf?

...What's the joke?

I still read Empowered I guess

>...What's the joke?

That Penny Arcade still thinks it's relevant.

Nah, they pretty much all suck. The only one I read nowadays is Alfie for reasons.

My enthusiasm for webcomics died with Boxer Hockey, desu.

Webcomics are on a better state than print comics.

Mike is cursed with creative wanderlust. He doesn't want to draw the same thing over and over, he'd rather reinvent himself every half decade or so, constantly drawing either new stuff, or existing stuff in a new way. I don't think he expected to be drawing Game and Tycho for 22 years. And to be fair... who would've thought, in 1998ish, that he'd still be doing it in 2020? But it's not like he can just stop, it's his company's flagship product and the company puts bread on the table so...

I kinda feel bad for the guy.

what the other guy said. Also, it's kind of hard to read? Not saying it in a brainlet way, the comic is painful to the eyes

This guy finally drawing porn reminds me of that episode where everybody keep chatting squidward name so he go out of the water and when he finally gets on land everyone it's like "..."

I mean, I give them a pass on the "let's make fun of shitty webcomics" bandwagon because most of what Penny Arcade does is charity. Gabe and Tycho are forever stuck putting out an embarrassingly bad produce that appeals to a niche fanbase of autists who discovered it in '98 and won't let it go, but in doing so they also fund lots of money for children's hospitals and things like that.

Not saying they're martyrs or even mildly competent humorists, but I try not to point and laugh at them because at least they're doing some good with their god awful webcomic.

Holy shit, that's perfect.

I own the Boxer Hockey book....I can't bring myself to invest in Diesel, even though it seems like it's actually going to be completed.

I'm not mad that Tyson got so much work from those Sonic comics though, good for him. I enjoyed Chaos in Space.

I'm surprised there are sprite comics still going on. Although I still follow Irregular Webcomic and El Goonish Shive.

The only webcomic I still read is Order of the Stick

>I'm surprised there are sprite comics still going on.

Please tell me one of them isn't 8 Bit Theater. I've been shocked at the number of early 00s webcomics being mentioned in this thread that are still around, somehow. That can't be one of them.

Penny Arcade can still be funny sometimes.

After OneManga went down years and years ago I got into webcomics, and still am. I see fairly good coverage at cons, but like with everything these days it seems pretty niche.

>8 Bit Theater.
Ended years ago, get with the times man

VGCATS PORN VGCATS PORN VGCATS PORN VGCATS PORN VG CA----

8-bit ended a long time ago
Surprisingly good ending all things considered.

I read SSSS and Lackadaisy.

EEEEEAAAAAAUUUUUGGGHHHHH

How the fuck is the VG Cats porn made by the rip-off artist better than the VG Cats porn drawn by the REAL artist? God that's hideous.

Because he eithers doesn't understand what makes them appealing or he draws them as he likes his porn
