What were you expecting from White Diamond when she was first unveiled?
What were you expecting from White Diamond when she was first unveiled?
Tits.
Wizard of Oz but actually a giant godly being not just a fake guy
nothing
Yeah, it was very easy to think she was a frumpy old aunt. But that's Yellow I guess.
Making me diamonds.
Based Metropolis poster
Sort of what she was but more meta-minded and irredeemable. But she was a redeemable basic emotional package.
I'm shocked someone here knows about Metropolis
It's one of the most iconic films ever
moar transsssssexuals!!!
>It's one of the most iconic films ever
And that's why I think nobody would know it
post leaks
I got exactly what I expected. She was a powerful ass mother fucker who wasn't putting up with their emotions bullshit, overpowered the main cast in a flash, and completely destroys Pink Rose and Steven's philosophy in seconds. She was scary and intimidating yet beautiful and graceful. I'm fine with her being reformed though watching her grovel like a puppy to Steven is disgusting villain WD will always be the true WD.
I legit thought she would be like the main antagonist for an entire season, and the ultimate villain in the show. A being that can't be reasoned with, her will is perfect and absolute, Steven wouldn't be able to talk her down or appeal to her feelings to stop her, teaching us that not every situation has a peaceful diplomatic solution and that crying isn't always a good solution. I thought the crystal gems and the Yellow and Blue Diamonds would all team up against White and the full military of homeworld. Thought they would all go full anime and have a big massive showdown by the end. But eh that was a good idea so of course it wasn't used. They just fucked her story arc a lot, she's supposed to be the most powerful of the galactic Hitler conquerors that slaved countless worlds and committed genocide on a intergalactic scale, but they just forgive her in like a second and let her go with a slap on the wrist. Steven universe really is the epitome of wasted potential isn't it? What a shame.
I thought she would be a threat because she couldn't feel empathy, which would make her feel different from the countless other villains Steven won over by talking to them.
Instead, what we got was a wet fart, just like every other villain in modern cartoons.
>I'm fine with her being reformed though watching her grovel like a puppy to Steven is disgusting villain WD will always be the true WD.
So you like the redemption or not?
The redemption was inevitable but the route they took was unacceptable.
I said I'm fine with it not that I liked it I'm just not a screetcher who spews the whole thing about the show is bad cause they "forgave" the diamonds (which they didn't Steven didn't forgive them he puts up with them because they're gods"
Good stuff man.
Basically she is a great villain mediocre good guy
This. They clearly couldn't shatter or stop white diamond. It doesn't really fit as a real world allegory but in the context of the show the only real route to peace was convincing White Diamond to stop being suck a massive cunt.
I was expecting the fan artists would draw more off-model legs and feet.
I was expecting white pearl to somehow control "white" wizard of Oz style.
Some guy in another thread posted a picture of his DVD collection and it was all Ghibli, a few Batman, and Avatar.
>It's one of the most iconic films ever
On of the most iconic films nobody has actually seen, most people are familiar with Metropolis through osmosis.
exactly the same, just... more of it. for her to have more screen time. really though the fandom guessed her narcissist mom thing pretty well. basically
Nothing, because I'm not a moron expecting good things from fucking Steven Universe.
Rotwang did nothing wrong.
What a shame.
