Who is the Comic Equivalent of Alejandro Jodorowsky?

He has done comics. Unless this is a trick question I don't know what you mean.

yep

Alexander Jodorowson

It's not a trick question, it's just a dumb question.

Grant Morrison maybe?

dumb spic

Jodorowsky himself? Is this just an attempt to use Yas Forums's penchant for shitting on retarded OPs to get people discussing his comics?

so you got it alllll figured out huh

I like his comics more than his movies.
Fight me.

Hey wait a second, that's the guy who raped Frank Herbert

I've read The Incal, The Metabarons, The Eyes of the Cat, and Son of the Gun. They were decent and entertaining and they all happen to have amazing art, but why do people think he is a top-tier comics writer? He's just alright.

hipsters elevate anything that's not capeshit

alejandro jodorowsky

because it's better than capeshit and a lot of people have such a low bar than anything even slightly better than capeshit is automatically a masterpiece

this.

That's not entirely true. Some of the most widely read capeshit comics are better than any of Jodorowsky's comics.

Rob Liefeld

maybe Watchmen, but otherwise you'd struggle to find a better capeshit comic than Metabarons

there aren't many capeshit comics that even come within spitting distance of the average Jodorowsky comic's art

Alan Moore and Grant Morrison.

I will look further into that but Moore's Swamp Thing run, 1963, Promethea, Top Ten, Miracleman, Morrison's Doom Patrol run, The Invisibles and stuff like Books of Magic (Tim Hunter), Neil Gaiman's Sandman run and Kabuki etc. are all top quality Jorodowsky-esque capeshit.

Non-capeshit is just not cool or futuristic enough for the majority of avid comic book readers... the main reason being that capeshit is a synthesis of pretty much all genres so anything less is typically not strong or intelligent enough for true comicbook guys.

Not if you read comics instead of just pretending to

But Jodorowsky doesn't draw them

>maybe Watchmen
Easily Watchmen, but even Miller's stuff and some Morrison, Ellis, and Cooke comics I would place above Jodorowsky's comics. Metabarons was a blast, however. The art was insane.
That's true. He did work with some of the great artists of the medium: Moebius, Boucq, Gimenez.
I feel like you don't know what you're talking about.

Joss Whedon
