Since Deviantart is cartoons right?
Anyway, basically Deviantart forced it's really poorly made, unfinished "modern" redesign onto all users, and they aren't having it.
People are not only complaining about it and leaving the site because of how unusable it is but are literally paying large amounts of money to share a petition against it.
Thoughts?
Deviantart Eclipse
THANK GOD I'm not the only one who hated the new style, it was so shitty I literally stopped using the site a month after it, and I used deviantart for over 7 fucking years every single damn week.
why is it that ui redesigns are almost always for the worse
You know there's a switch to turn eclipse off right?
I stopped using dA long before the layout change. You can't build a decent fanbase on that site anymore. It's only really useful for people who have already been there a decade and had a million followers before Tumblr/Twitter/Instagram took over as the dominant art-sharing platform.
Websites, UI Redesigns and Logos are now made for phones, sorry grandpa.
The search function is horrible.
DA staff are unbelievably fucking retarded if they sincerely think forcing it onto everybody is a good decision. eclipse has been getting so much poor feedback for months but they've barely listened, it's horribly optimised, not at all user-friendly, and is a straight rip-off of artstation but worse in every single way
i only really use DA as an archive for my art, so eclipse basically renders the entire site useless to me since folders are presented like shit and are hell to navigate in eclipse. glad most of the user base is being loud about their displeasure for it, but i doubt they'll change their minds
user they're forcing it onto everyone soon, learn to read
I go to Eclipse on my phone and it's still ads. In fact I have used my laptop in more than a year and always use the old sits on my phone. DA should be taken out back and shot for this stupid shit.
Why do you guys hate Eclipse?
>Those websites also suck.
I didn't say they were good platforms, just that it's where you go to build a fanbase. It's much easier as a no-name artist to gain a lot of followers on those sites than it is on dA.
