21 years ago, MAD Magazine made a fake catalog that was satirizing the overload of Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and some of the MGM library merchandise Warner Bros. was selling at the time at The Warner Bros. Studio Stores meant to a cooperator to The Disney Store. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warner_Bros._Studio_Store
For any Lonney Tunes or 90's WB fans on here, it's pretty scathing so just a heads up.
For reference, here's some examples of how the WB Studio Store catalogs looked, these were from around 1994-1995. MAD really did their homework parodying this with all the attention to detail they had, down to having products similar to real ones sold by Warners like the shirts with definitions and Looney Tunes characters.
Looking at Scoob and just the overall Hanna Barbara catalog, I really wonder the worth of a lot of these IPs. Sure we have that new Looney Tunes thing I guess but they just keep remodeling and redesigning, but never really catching on with kids it seems

That Foghorn Leghorn T-shirt - I want one.

was Batman TAS seen as dull and slow in the 90's? And compared to what, the comics?

Although this is a funny jab at consoomers, some of this didn't age well for a few reasons.
>If this came out now with the insults at BTAS, they'd be burnt at the stake. >Most people remember Pinky & The Brain years after it's cancellation. >MAD is now owned by DC comics as well had a cartoon on Cartoon Network. >Many years later after this scathing jab, Disney itself starts losing steam and becomes a laughing stock after purchasing Marvel,Lucas-film,20th Century FOX, etc, which have been hit or miss, and are now pandering on nostalgia. (see Ralph Breaks The Internet)

Weird seeing Hana Barbera merch. Outside of Scooby Doo, I don’t think most kids know who any of these characters are.
You know, where so far up our own asses in the post irony trend, that I can see a shirt like that actually being popular not too far from now.

It's cause WB fucked up after they got ahold of the H-B characters and decided the only one they needed to use was Scooby-Doo just because he sold really well, and promptly ignored the others for a long time.
WB severely mismanages its properties from time to time.

>>MAD is now owned by DC comics as well had a cartoon on Cartoon Network.
MAD was owned by WB/DC at the time the catalog was published, didn't you know that?

they might recognize the flintstones from their cereal or their vitamins, its more that can be said for the jetsons

BTW how many of you remember the WB Studio Stores? What did it look like and what did you get from it?
