fuck you op

What's wrong with this one?

>what is every cartoon

A. it is pro america
B. it is pro gun
C. is is pro americans fucking up tyrants

It mentions America to any capacity, watch as the thread is now flooded by pissy Europeans. It's genuinely fascinating how obsessive they are.

t. Australian

fucking propaganda

just history

Its fine.

The other American Revolution one is full of fallacies though. Like the king being the antagonist rather than British Parliament, the near-mythical emphasis on the Plymouth story, the idea the colonies were united socially, and so on.

Get out of here Xoomer.

people will mock other countries for making hero stories about their glorious leaders, and then turn around and teach their kids that George Washington never told a lie and overemphasize every early president's role in every battle they were in

the pilgrims thing is a post civil war thing so that the north didn't have to credit jamestown as being the first settlement

Except washington was fucking awesome. Watch this documentary

I think the one about westward expansion is worse.

You know, prior to the 1950’s most Americans would point to figures like Johnny Appleseed, Dirty Dan Harris, Calamity Jane, and Captain Stormalong as the greatest American heroic figures.

The Cold War made America shift from mythologizing mundane people doing mundane things in extraordinary ways to war leaders and supreme commanders.

You think if the Confederates had been able to rally around a single Thanksgiving instead of all the states having their own now-forgotten ones, we’d be teaching the kids that the Mayflower was the birth of western civilization less?

This is true
Blow me

nah, the south would have had to win the civil war for that to happen. The whole mayflower mythos was to make it so the North would be more important in the school system than the south

The revolution was a conflict of the English Civil war that reignited in the new world, while remaining a cold war in the old. Likewise the civil war was a repeat of the same conflict, between Roundheads (the North) and Cavaliers (the South). The constant struggle since Henry VIII between high-church Anglicans and landed gentry against protestant parliamentarians and Whigs reasserted itself in the new world. Calvinist ministers and Virginian Cavaliers were never going to get along

Hi /k/, I appreciate the thread of this you made earlier. Was pretty comfy.

>DUDE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO WANTED MONEY ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PEOPLE WHO WROTE THE DOCUMENT THAT WAS THE BASIS OF THE CONSTITUTION

Jamestown was first. The pilgrims were in a cult and basically murdered the fuck out of anyone who wasn't in their cult. The other thing about it is there is a holiday for the pilgrims, but not jamestown, and schools teach about the pilgrims from prek up, they only teach about jamestown in high school

>The pilgrims were in a cult and basically murdered the fuck out of anyone who wasn't in their cult
The fuck are you on about?

They didn't murder them, they just banished them.

The covers that were made were pretty good.

>and schools teach about the pilgrims from prek up, they only teach about jamestown in high school
That's not true and this is a very weird this is a very weird this is a very weird thing to get hung up on.
Disney made a movie about Captain John Smith and Jamestown, people are aware of it.

>t. Thomas Morton
The Puritains were faithful, modest and diligent. They lived in the most virtuous society the world had ever seen, and were among the most literate populations in the world.

Most perfect society ever, but a bunch of bored teenage girls shook it to its core.

I don’t know. Reconstruction was pretty generous to the southern culture.

Fuck, they started the war and were the attacking force in most battles, but schools in Alabama call it the “war of northern aggression”.

Name a bigger hoe, I'll wait.

I don't think anyone actually remembers this though

>I don’t know. Reconstruction was pretty generous to the southern culture.
Only to some of them. Like Stonewall Jackson always gets a pass and Robert E. Lee gets deified and in schools they kinda teach that Robert E. Lee was anti slavery (which kinda? he wrote that he felt bad for getting slaves from his father in law but that he felt they were too dumb to be on their own and allegedly he treated them well) and only fighting because the south was his home
>Fuck, they started the war and were the attacking force in most battles, but schools in Alabama call it the “war of northern aggression”.
schools in alabama, top kek

Thread is another Yas Forums thread. Next

>They lived in the most virtuous society
Birth and marriage records indicate a hilarious ammount if shotgun weddings but I suppose that's the way things were done back in the day.
It's easy to lie to honest people, many make a living off of it.

Weakness is not a virtue.

it's mostly brits tho. French and italians love this melancholy american sweet stuff, we make so much media about how cool cowboys are, and many of our comic protags are american.

>seething

What?

Are you not reading the thread?

>reddit spacing

As an American I can understand why Latino American and Canada would get pissy with us. But I can't for the life of me get why Europe would despise up this much.

The South didn't properly recover economically from the Civil War till the 1970s.
Although I do agree Secession didn't make a lick of sense, just caused them to lose their slaves faster.
>Robert E. Lee was anti slavery
He thought miscegenation was disgusting and Plantation owners were well known to indulge.

Another point that is often overlooked is that the Democratic party was also begining to split between the old guard and a populist branch supported by the middle class.
You see slavery only works for slave owners and also smothers every other sector of the economy.
It's the reason the Romans never had an industrial revolution.
